"What's going on?" Henry asked.
The person wore armor and held a wand in his hand. He was a magus, but he looked more like a city guard.
"Show me your magic."
Instead of explaining, the magus took a step back. He distanced himself from Felicia and Henry.
The duo looked at each other. They didn't have a reason not to comply, so they did.
"Fire."
Henry faked a chant. A small flame appeared and then disappeared in his hand.
"Grow."
Felicia did the same and caused the grass near her to mature.
"Mm. Be careful. There's a grievous soul ahead."
Their actions satisfied the magus.
"What are you?" Henry asked, looking at his odd outfit.
"I'm a city guard of Deepest City. It's nearby."
"Okay. This grievous soul… Is it possessing people?"
Henry visibly appeared calm, but he was surprised. He was familiar with Grievous Souls.
"Hm? You know about them? You are indeed correct."
