4:30 AM.
Dorothy walked up to Ollie's room. "Maybe I should knock on the door?" She thinks to herself. "But is 4:30 too early? No. It sounds about right to make some breakfast." She knocked on the door but the door instantly unlocked itself. This shook her a bit. "What in… reckless to keep the door open."
Almira is standing behind Dorothy. "This is the perks of being the Guild Leader. You can enter their room without any problems." She chuckled. "But 4:30 sounds way too early to do some work. You should get some more sleep." Almira yawned as she walked away. "And go easy on them."
"Where are you going, Mrs. Green?"
Almira looked tired. "Back to bed. I've been making your spare Slippers Wand."
"Back to bed?" Dorothy checks her watch. "But it's too late to head to bed when the sun is about to come up."
Entering the room.
"Ollie?!" Dorothy happily greets her, but notices that her room is a total pig sty. "What in tarnation?"
Ollie is snoring on the bed, half naked as the bed covers the lower half while she's wearing her brassiere top.
"Does she like to sleep barely naked?" Dorothy questioned her sleeping habits. She nearly trips a couple of times on her clothes. "Does she even wash these clothes?!" Dorothy got up then started picking up her clothes then placed them into a basket. "Are all people from the 1950's this dirty? Plus why so much grease on these clothes? Was she doing some mechanical work? If so, I don't want to imagine how dirty the other rooms are." Dorothy imagined their rooms but couldn't imagine Makayla but did so for Abbie who got corpses around her bed.
As she's picking up the clothes, Johnny wakes up but goes back to bed after he checked the time.
She never noticed that she had odd shaped breasts. Dorothy put down the basket then compared her B cups to Ollie's. "Do breasts really get that oddly shaped in this time period? But why are they two different size" Dorothy shrugs it off as she covers the top with the bed sheets. "I hope Abbie is much cleaner. I pray to God if that's the case." Dorothy leaves Ollie's room with her clothes. She taps her slippers to lift up the basket of clothes with magic. "I should go to both Abbie and Makayla's rooms then."
Dorothy makes her way towards their rooms. Thanks to being a Guild Leader, she can just enter the room but stop herself when she thinks about Abbie's room again.
"I hope it's not that way!"
Entering Abbie's room, she never saw how pink it looked. And her bed is fuzzy and stuffed animals around her bed. Her room is much cleaner than both hers and Ollie's. Even her clothing arrangement is much neater than most.
"So many animals." Dorothy thought to herself as she picked up a baby seal. "What kind of creature are you?" Confused over the seal. "Whatever it is, it's so adorable!" Placing it down. Dorothy picked up the basket of clothes from the washroom, using magic. Looking around to see multiple sword handle Wands that Abbie was hoping to have.
Seeing Abbie having a onesies with a cap. "Go Red Sox!!!" She's sleep talking as she got up then laid back down. Holding her sheets tightly then slowly rolled out of bed as Dorothy didn't notice the casket next to the bed.
"What the...?!" Dorothy is shocked to see it. "Why does she have a casket in her room?! And..." Seeing that Abbie is about to close the casket but the top had been cut open. "Why does she need the bed?! I should head out."
Leave the room with a basket of clothes.
"Outside of the casket, that wasn't too bad. I find it odd that an undertaker has a cleaner room than a near modern woman."
Walking up to Makayla's room.
"I saw the worst and best room. Guess time to meet the middle."
Dorothy entered the room to see it slightly cleaner than Ollie's.
"Honestly, wasn't expected to be clean." Dorothy walked around to pick up the clothes. She noticed the smell of a skunk and tried to look around to find the skunk but only saw a few sticks of weed joints and some other bags of weed. Dorothy picked it up. "So this might be the weed I've been told about, but why so small? Even a cigarette is much bigger." Dorothy observed the weed stick but unknown to her...
Makayla pulls out a pistol to aim at whoever is holding her joint. This scared Dorothy. "Whoever holds my joint will get shot at!" Makayla sleep talks but with a threatening tone. Pull the trigger but nothing happens. "Bang! You're dead!" Makayla smiled as she rolled over in her bed sheets.
Dorothy sign of relief. "I thought I was dead for sure." Placing it down then noticed a bag of white powder. "But why so much sugar? Or is it salt?"
Sees the note: Please don't touch, because this is meant to be sold to a buyer before leaving.
"Sold?" Dorothy looked over. "But I guess she still needs to make money. I doubt there's a spell for making a money tree." Putting it down.
§
After washing and drying clothes. Dorothy looks to see the clothes going round and round. Remembering the time that she had to do some field work with what was considered as 'modern' to her at the time.
"I never thought I should say this, but I'm starting to understand why my pa said that I should be a little grateful with what I got. Because folks of today, got it good."
Dorothy sat down in front of the washing machine to watch it.
"I could honestly watch this all day. A lot better than whatever crap is on... television? This would have taken me a couple of hours, but I was told that it takes around 20-30 minutes? Then an hour of the dryer per load?"
Malvonia walked up to her to sit next to her.
"I'm honestly surprised that this caught your attention." She said to Dorothy.
"Well cleaning was the one thing I asked about when I first was reborn as a Witch. But I didn't know how much work I had gone through compared to the amount of work to the modern tools that would have made my life a little easier. It would make up some more time for myself if I did." Dorothy replied.
"But do you miss having that way of life?" Malvonia watches the washer spin with Dorothy.
"I do. Actually, I might go back to my farmer's roots by doing yard work and animal care." She answered. "I do miss the smell of cows and chickens. Maybe have a dog with puppies. With the Familiar's help, I can get things back to where I belong. I won't survive the modern world, so I mine as well try to make my home into my old world."
"Sounds wonderful. Master would have traded her old world for this, but can't blame her for that. So are you gonna make your Guild members some breakfast? Including mine?" She looked up while wagging her tail like a dog.
"Of course!" Dorothy smiled.
§
Everyone is at the dinner table with a few having breakfast; sunny side up eggs; a couple of bacon; hash browns; toast; and coffee.
Ollie looked like she was in a train wreck. Makayla looked like she was about to pass out. Abbie is laying on one of her stuffed toys as a pillow. Dorothy is the only one that appears to be glowing with life. Both Malvonia and Johnny are eating breakfast that Dorothy made.
From outside, multiple Witches are making a break for it, as if there's a gold rush happening, but the Wicked Witches didn't bother with it.
"Say, boss." Ollie tiredly spoke up. "Can I ask why are you having breakfast this early in the morning?"
"Well I would have made porridge, but I feel like everyone would respond better with this instead." Dorothy happily said.
"But... Why 6 in the morning?!" Ollie shouted to wake Abbie up, but Makayla lazily looked around. "Seriously, I could barely get up at 7 whenever I needed to go to school!"
"7?" Makayla looked at her. "Then the bus won't be here for another half hour, just a couple more minutes of sleep please." Makayla is sleeping while sitting up.
"7? Then I should start digging up some graves then." Abbie grabs her shove and sleepily flies towards the door but both Dorothy and Ollie hold her broom to pull her back to the table.
"But if you sleep longer than that, then you must have wasted half a morning on sleep." Dorothy said to Ollie.
"Have you gone to school during your time period?" Ollie asked.
"But I don't want to go to school today." Makayla sleep talks.
"I can't afford to go to school. Waste of time on my work." Abbie also sleep talks.
"Does everyone sleep that late?" Dorothy asked.
"Yes! Because it is called beauty rest. We all need the 8-10 hour long sleep! And I barely got 7!" Ollie angrily said to Dorothy.
"But you seem lively now." Dorothy happily points out of Ollie's normally angry expression.
"Because I'm angry that you woke me up too damn early!" Ollie starts eating her breakfast.
"By the way, Dorothy." Johnny walked up to her. "Why did you pick up her clothes?"
"To do laundry. Knowing that we have machines to do so, I guess I could do that work early in the morning." Happily replied.
"Oh, well Ollie here can't learn to do anything like that. She would say that her mom or auntie would have done that for her. She's too tough to do so." Johnny said while embarrassing Ollie which she struck him down then finger flick him away.
"But seriously, why do my laundry? I could have done it." Ollie said as she stuff her face.
"Why do I get the feeling she says this but won't do it afterwards." Dorothy thinks to herself as she's drinking coffee.
Looking at her chest and noticed that they're around the same size to one another. "I have a question though, are your breasts the same size or mismatched? Because as I was picking up your clothes, they looked like a mismatch." Dorothy asked which caused Ollie to choke on her foot while Johnny started laughing at them.
"What?!" Ollie said after chest pumps. "For your information, I have always had these massive beauties!" Ollie poses on top of the table with her foot pressing down on Abbie's breakfast.
Johnny walked up to them again. "Actually, that is why she became a Salem Witch. Because of the blood she takes, she can morph her body into whatever shape. She's always been embarrassed by her mismatched..."
Ollie comically kicks Johnny off of the table. "Nobody asks you! How about I neutered you!"
Dorothy continues to eat while being confused. "I don't see anything wrong but I'm just confused. That's all."
Ollie angrily sat down while covering her chest with her leather jacket. "I was raised differently. Used to get bullied by preppy brats over them before I became a greaser girl. They used to call me a freak or a mutant."
Abbie finally got up. Yawn loudly. Looking down to her foot. "Ah! Breakfast!" She starts eating the meal after she pull Ollie's foot off, but both Dorothy and Ollie are looking grossed out. "What?" Asked while her face is being stuffed up.
"I put my foot on those. How could you eat that?" Ollie awkwardly asked.
"Have you tried English food? Because these don't taste that differently. Maybe I should ask you to foot stomp all of the food I can't eat." Abbie swallows then continues on eating her breakfast. "So what time is it?" She asked.
"About 6 in the morning." Dorothy answered.
"Alright, just around the best time to wash my face, put on somewhat clean clothes then start digging." Abbie talks as if this is ordinary to her.
"You're an early bird too?" Ollie asked.
"I used to put dead bodies by 4 if I start digging right now, with a lunch break, then I could be ready for a bath and supper." Abbie answered as she's remembering her past life work schedule.
"I may have killed Magical Girls before, but seeing dead bodies was normal back then? Even in the 50's is quite rare." Ollie asked.
"I believe it depends on where you live." Dorothy said to Ollie. "Because in Kansas, it's quite rare to see so many dead bodies."
"But you should be lucky that you were in the 50's, since you didn't have to worry about the fear that Capone coming down, or people like that. I used to shit my pants whenever I heard about a gangster in town." Abbie nearly breaks out in her Boston accent. "But seeing dead bodies here and there is quite normal, and it was my job to bury them. But due to my frail body at the time, I couldn't move properly."
"Can you do a New York accent?" Ollie asked.
"Please don't insult me with that idea of a joke." Abbie death stares at her for the joke.
Makayla finally woke up. "What time is it?"
"6 AM." They all reply.
"Then I'm heading to bed." Makayla grabs her plate then walks back to her room. But before leaving the common area, she looks at the Witches outside. She turned around to speak to them. "I guess these are going for a Bounty hunt."
"Bounty Hunt?" Both Dorothy and Abbie were confused.
"It's something that the MGK likes to do. Put up rewards and bring the heads and Lockets of the Magical Girl. Like the actual heads." Ollie leaned back on the chair as she's drinking coffee as she's start smoking.
"Yeah. My sister tends to do this. She'll pay double if she's alive, and if she's in a bad mood to kill a Magical Girl." Makayla made a sandwich of bacon and eggs into one toast to make a sloppy mess on her plate while using magic to keep her coffee in the air.
"Must be something big then." Ollie slowly eats her bacon.
"Oh well. Not like I'm gonna participate. I have no interest in such nonsense." Dorothy said as she's eating her eggs.
"By the way, boss." Ollie leans down. "Where are we heading out? Because I'll fly elsewhere once in a while I won't stop till I find the Magical Bitches that nearly killed me."
"Have you been checking the Bounty List?" Makayla asked as she watched the others leaving.
"The Chicago list, but haven't seen the others though. Spending all night to look for them, but the ones I've been seeing from Chicago aren't the ones." Ollie answered.
"They don't tend to be mobile. They usually stay at a single location." Malvonia said to Ollie. "Then perhaps this might be a Vigilante."
"Sounds about right." Makayla then starts smoking her joint. "Vigilantes are a special request, only to spice small town areas. But the MGGA might take action though." She then pulls out the Bounty List on her phone. "Oztown, Kansas? Sounds about right."
"Oztown?!" Almira flies in and grabs Dorothy. She had a toothbrush in her mouth and her suitcase ready to go.
"Mrs. Green? Why are we in a rush?" Dorothy continues to eat as she has toast in her mouth.
All three were confused. "She seems to be on the rush, or part of the Hunt?" Makayla said.
"Then perhaps we should start packing up then." Ollie stood up as Abbie continued to eat her breakfast.
"If it's in Oztown, then that means we won't have to deal with the Magical Girls in that area any longer after this hunt." Dorothy said to Almira as they're in front of their truck.
"That's not the problem!" Almira pulls Malvonia in.
"Master?! I know it's your territory, but we could let them all kill each other!" Malvonia said.
"Territory?" Dorothy asked.
"We Witches take pride over our location. That's why I like my little small town. It's perfect, but if they find out that there's no problems and no real powerful Magical Girls, then we'll be ganging up to either join their Guilds or kill other Witches that will cause the MGGA to send a shit ton of them to that location." Almira flick her Wand to pack everything up. "Plus if the MGGA does a Magic sweep, they'll find out where I live and who I used my Magic on. They'll trace it back, and I'm on their Wanted List. I want to avoid being captured after all!" She started up the truck.
"Then..." Dorothy pulls out her phone to make a call to her Guild. "I want you all to meet me at Oztown."
Almira grabs her phone. "No, you're not! We're all just going to pick up the rest of our shit, and make a break for it at Oregon or Nebraska! I don't care where, as long there's no Magical Girls in it, and where they won't send Guides to!" Almira hangs up the phone as she's ready to make a drive out to Oztown. A loud thud is heard at the back of the truck. "What the actual hell?!"
Ollie comes into the backseat with Makayla while Abbie is sleeping in the casket at the back. All of them had packed up already.
Ollie spoke up. "Well guess our leader is heading out, we gotta join up."
"Plus we were ready to leave, so we got stuff ready." Makayla added.
Dorothy thinks to herself. "They got their stuff ready? I literally laundry for them."
"It doesn't mean you can come by and start clinging onto her like she's special or not." Almira shouted.
"Actually we don't have anywhere else to go, so we're tagging along till we find a permanent place to stay." All of them said it.
"Fine! But if any of you are dead weight, then I'm leaving your asses!" Almira started driving back to Oztown.
§
An hour earlier, a couple of Witches had arrived at Oztown. On the outskirts.
Witch's cackle of one of the younger looking Witches. "This should be easy! If there's only three, that's easy 50K right there!" Put away her Wand. "Start loading up!"
The Witches, group of 4, start gearing up in a small militia style with combat gear and rifles.
"If they're being guarded by an innocent couple, then kill them too. Make an example of them." The leader spoke up.
A small rose flew in between of them thus confusing them.
"Did one of you cast a rose spell?" The leader asked. They shake their heads.
The rose petals strike onto each member like casting them down to sleep.
A blue rose dressed up as a Magical Girl walked into the scene. 5'2". Blue haired girl with black streaks. Red eyes. Blue lipstick and eye shadow. Corset style of a combat dress with the bottom as a rose style puff skirt. High socks. Slippers. Gloves. Tiara.
At her side, there's a Guide. Orange and white cat.
"Sorry ladies." Sounds apologetic. "But I'm new around here, but after seeing a couple of brooms flying, I had to get involved. So..." She placed a rose onto them, trapping them as the MGGA came by to arrest them. She grabbed the leader and asked a question. "So what brings you down to Oztown?"
