"RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!!!" That's not the sound of a Thompson submachine gun, that's just Daisuko mimicking the sound of a Thompson submachine gun while she fires an actual Thompson submachine gun. "GET FUCKED!"
"..." Shosuko stares at the corpses of the Umi Alliance gangsters that Daisuko just gunned down. Girls that were peacefully chatting in the alleyway just a few minutes ago, reduced to little more than mulched flesh.
Daisuko cackles wickedly as she continues to spray the already dead gangsters. Normally, guns are largely ineffective against magical girls. Their reflexes are just too quick, they can dodge the bullet coming long before it's even fired. And anything short of a direct headshot means the magical girl can just heal the damage off in an hour or two. Though, most Umi Alliance gangsters are just normal teenage girls, and so, gunning them down is very much a viable option.
By the time she runs out of ammo, the alleyway is covered in blood and the corpses have been riddled with holes from the sheer hail of lead they just had to endure. "What's wrong? You haven't fired a single bullet."
"It just ain't in my blood, gunning them down like this." Shosuko leans the Tommy gun that Daisuko lent her against the wall. "I was hoping to take them out in a proper fight."
"Hey, relax." Daisuko ignores every rule of gun safety and nudges Shosuko with the muzzle of the gun. "Most Umi Alliance grunts aren't magical girls or anything, you wouldn't be able to get a good fight out of them even if you tried."
"That just makes it even worse." Shosuko stuffs her thumbs into her pockets. "Is that how the Kuze Clan operates? Gunning down the weak?"
"Nah, that's just how I operate." Daisuko's smile darkens. "I've done horrible things. Sins that I can't ever just wash off. That's why I can cut loose without any regrets. You should do the same. You're yakuza now, might as well enjoy the benefits to the fullest, right?"
"I'll pass." Shosuko's stare could drill a hole into concrete.
"Heh." Daisuko looks down and shakes her head. "You're stubborn, just like your mom."
"You knew my mom?"
"We're cousins, Shosuko. She was my aunt, of course we knew each other. It's kinda weird. Your mom and my mom were always polar opposites. You'd think that they'd be at least sort of similar but it really was like they weren't even sisters."
"How old are you, Daisuko? Really, I mean."
"I'm twenty two but I'm forever seventeen. And if I had to guess you're… about the same?"
"Nope. I'm seventeen. Old as I look."
"Really?" Daisuko's face lights up like a Christmas tree. "I suppose that makes me your senior in more ways than one."
"What happened to forever seventeen?" Shosuko looks around, making sure no one from the ICMG is around. "So, what now?"
"Now we loot." Daisuko walks into the alleyway and begins searching through the girls' pockets, pulling out wallets every so often.
"If money's what you wanted, did you really have to kill them?" Shosuko leans against the alley wall. "Couldn't we have just… y'know, shook them down or something?"
"We're going to war with the Umi Alliance anyway. No point playing nice anymore." Daisuko transfers a small wad of 10,000 yen bills from a corpse's wallet to her own. "More importantly, do you use two or three fingers?"
"Excuse me?"
"You know… when you do the deed" Daisuko makes a suggestive gesture with her hand.
It takes a second for the gears in Shosuko's head to click together. "...I'm not answering that."
"I thought you were gangster material. Two or three fingers?"
"What? N-neither."
"C'mon, a lonely girl like you probably does it at least once a day."
"I do not!" A soft blush creeps up Shosuko's harsh expression. "And I'm not lonely!"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Do I look like I have a boyfriend?" Shosuko scoffs. "What? Do you have a boyfriend, then?"
"Girls have boyfriends. Women, like yours truly, have girlfriends." She shrugs. "Girls just do it better."
"Well congratulations, I guess." At this point, Shosuko might consider settling for a very masculine woman.
"Anyway, you haven't answered my question yet." Daisuko pockets a car key she found on another corpse. "Two or three fingers?"
Shosuko presses her lips into a thin line. "There's no shutting you up until I answer, is there?"
"Nope."
Shosuko sighs and holds up two fingers. "There. Happy?"
"Basic." Daisuko tuts as she shakes her head.
"What did you want me to say? That I use my fucking feet or some shit like that?"
"Try it with three fingers. I promise you, you won't be able to go back"
"I already did." Shosuko sighs. "It hurt so I stopped– why am I telling you this?" It appears that the stupidity that plagues Daisuko is infectious.
"The way I see it, you're always gonna have to deal with some pain in life no matter what–" Daisuko freezes, her eyes hardening into what can only be described as a battle trance. Her voice is as low as a whisper. "Don't move."
Shosuko mouths back. "I know." She can't hear or see her from this angle but she can smell her. Daisuko's hand begins to creep into her cloak. Shosuko inches her hand towards the Tommy gun leaning against the wall.
Watching over the scene from the roof of a nearby building, is a girl dressed in a sharp black suit and tie. She has long red hair fixed into a rough ponytail and her eyes are hidden behind her sunglasses. An I-C. More specifically, an I-C that just witnessed Daisuko kill all those Umi Alliance members.
"I told you this was a bad idea." Shosuko's hand is on the gun's barrel now. "On the count of three, we jump her."
"Are you insane? Nobody fucks with the Commission." Daisuko hisses at Shosuko. "Plus, she's an I-C, she's going to hand us our asses on a silver platter."
"Do you have any better ideas?"
"Matter of fact, I do. I just need you to be cool, alright?"
"Alright."
The I-C jumps down onto the street.
