Simba had made sure that Imani was alive before turning his sight to the fight. He made sure to stay by her side to protect her incase something went wrong.
He couldn't help the feeling of his blood boiling as he saw the fight going on. His lion instincts made him want to join.
In the end, Asafa bit through the gorillas neck and broke his spine, and then held onto it until it died.
Simba stared at his brother in awe, Asafahad blood around his mouth and his claws, and looked unharmed.
Simba hadn't seen such a scene since he was a child and his parents showed him how to hunt and to kill. Since he arrived here 4 years ago, he hadn't hunted an herbivore once, he ate insects, bugs, snails and fish.
But swing the blood of the Gorilla made his cells scream at him, shout at him to consume.
And seeing his brother with liquid gold around his mouth and claws, made him remember the feelings he had when he was young and wanted to grow up so he could hunt and become a skilled lion.
"Are you well?" Asafa asked after he realised the carcass of the Gorilla, seeing his brother being in a daze worried him.
"Yes, I just remember something from when we were young..." He confessed.
"I see." Asafa felt relief that his brother wasn't hurt. And he could understand what he meant with those words as he also felt his natural instincts kick in after he hunted hyenas for the first time.
"Is she fine?" Asafa asked worriedly as he looked at Imani.
"Seems like it, I think she's just asleep?" Simba said as he couldn't see any obvious wounds.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" Suddenly, Pumba, Timon and Hamu ran out of the bushes with weapons in their hands, ready to fight or die.
"Huh?" Pumba stopped in his tracks when he saw the scen in front of him.
On top of Pumba stood Timon with a sharpened branch, holding it like a spear.
Beside Timon was Hamu, holding onto rocks with his tail, ready to throw them.
"You already defeated him??!" Timon asked.
"Maybe I used accidentally killed him with my sssuper sssight?" Hamu questioned.
But as the saw Imani laying down like that they all hurried towards her.
Each pushing and showing her trying their best to awaken her, and it seemed to work.
"Yaaaawn, aaah what a good nap, why did you wake me up?" Imani said as she groginly woke up.
"What nap, you worried us sick!" Timon admonished her.
"Wait..!" Suddenly she stood up and looked around frantically, rememberding what happened.
"Don't worry we took care of it." Asafa said, and only then did she notice the dead gorilla.
"Yeah we totally did!" Pumba said proudly.
"Well we did most of the work, Asafa helped out a bit!" Timon said as he walked up to the big lion.
Just as he was about to pat him in an endearing way, he noticed the blood that was dripping down from Asafa's mouth. Half his face had blood on it... And the Timon's sight fells down and saw Asafa's pawns full of blood.
His sight went back up and saw Asafa's face again, only now did he realise that there is a full blown predator Infront of him.
"A-A-Asafa..." He simpered before passing out.
"Huh, what's wrong with him?" The lion asked confused.
"Pumba realising what's going on went to pick up the meerkat.
"Timon don't worry, we have tamed Asafa and Simba, No worries!" Pumba said.
When Asafa heard that he felt his eyes twitch.
"What should we do with that?" Imani asked, her sight dead on the carcass with drool coming out of her mouth.
Her diet used to consist of merely meat before, but now it had been reduced to bugs and fish, only occasionally would she hunt secretly.
"That... You guys go ahead, we'll return first!" Pumba said as he realised that all the predators seemed slightly uncomfortable. Pumba realised that they wanted to eat.
After Timon, Hamu and Pumba left, Asafa walked over to the Gorilla and went straight to the guts.
Simba and Imani also walked up to the gorilla but they waited as the gorilla was Asafa's kill.
The was a strict hierarchy regarding consumption in groups amongst feline predators. For the lions, when game was brought home, the leader would eat first then followed by the second rank until the lowest in rank are last.
Asafa looked at the body and his instincts told him that the gut area was the juiciest.
The most energy and nutrition for lions was not in the muscles but instead, the organs.
He started licking the area he wanted to dig into. His tongue ripped part of the skin off as lions had very rough, sandpaper-like tongues to help rip of delicate part of the body.
After taking a few licks, the skin was ripped open and the organ poured out. Asafa went for the one that seemed the tastiest.
Seing Asafa start eating, Simba went for the head and bit trough the skull for each the luscious brain.
Imani went for one of the legs with lots of muscles.
"Aaaa I missed the taste of blood and gore!" Imani said in a cute voice as she happily ripped into the flesh of the gorilla.
Simba had not tastes something this good since he was a child so he didn't even notice the surrounding as he dived right into the brain.
It took a while for them to consume the whole body, after all the gorilla was about 230 kg, and if you disregard the skeleton, feet, hands and other parts that wasn't desirable to eat, then there was probably about 100 kg of good stuff on the body including muscles, organs and blood.
They consumed it all, with Asafa being the one that ate the most.
"Ahhhh I feel like I won't need to eat again for a year!" Simba said with a yawn. After a good meal, one should always take a nap.
"Let's go back and rest for a bit!" Imani said.
"*Cough cough* maybe we should wash up first?" Asafa adviced as he saw how bloody they had gotten. He didn't want Timon to pass out again.
All three of the stood up and went to the lake to wash up.
And as they walked side by side, it looked like three pregnant felines because of their bulging stomachs.

So I got a few complaints about my story following the canon story too much... Fine suit yourself.
From the start, this was supposed to be a slice of life, lion king fanfic that follows most of the story that we grew up on and loved, but you have now forced my hand.
I had an event planned out for a while now, but I wasn't sure if I should write it as it could be something heavily disliked by the readers.... And now you have no one to blame except yourselves MWAHAHHA π
