Rita's POVMy mood kinda changed after the serious discussion I had with Evelyn, what she said made real sense and hit me hard on the exact right spot. Plus, watching her and Adams flirting, playing like the two love-birds which they newly were; mushy pecks and kisses, intertwined fingers, tight hugs, interlocked arms, calling themselves sweet names and it's making me feel like having a guy to do all these things with. I need to experience what it feels like.
I walked alone to the bus stop, sat, and waited for my bus to arrive.
It could have been Evelyn and I, going home together but nope, she chose relationship over friendship.
"Could you please move to the next seat?" A muscular voice said; " Please" He added and I adjusted before looking up to see who it was.
"You.." I pointed, trying to recall where I must have seen him.
"The lady from Beauty and Cosmetics" The guy recognized me right away.
"Oh yeah, you!!" It was the guy who came to the saloon and didn't know his way to the male section. That weird guy.
"You must have had a stressful day at work and you're heading home now right?" He said trying to start a conversation with me.
"Yeah," I said with an uninterested look.
"Finn, I'm Finn," He said, intending for a handshake.
"Rita," I said and shook hands with him.
"Beautiful name" He complimented.
"Thank you" Just then, the bus I was expecting came and I stood up immediately.
"My bus is here," I told him.
"Oh, I can see that" He stood up too but watch me board the bus instead. I thought he would follow me because only those who sat at that bus stop are expecting the same bus but he didn't enter, Maybe this is not his bus, but probably the next.
I got in and looked through the window and saw him wave at me. I only smiled, I didn't wave back. You know, it's dangerous when strangers are tryna to be friendly.

I got home tiredly.. as usual.
"Ew, Ew... " I squinched when I saw how littered my room was just because I was in a hurry this morning. I bent down and picked up every piece.
"What if I came home with friends..." I muttered.
Yeah, although my key assurance is; 'There's no guy to pay me a visit' but what if I came home with Evelyn and Adam, or what if I came home with someone who likes me or a sudden boyfriend? Ugh! If I had a boyfriend, I won't keep my room littered like this and I'm probably gonna behave more Girly.
I stood still for a while, remembering everything Evelyn told me today again.
I'm not getting any younger, I need someone to spend the rest of my life too with. I took a deep breath to subside my pounding heart.
I decided to keep that aside as I began to tidy up my small apartment before I went ahead to freshen up then rushed into the kitchen to cook Dinner for One. Just Me.
My phone rang while I was waiting for my supper to be ready. It was my mom.
" Oh Mom" I stared at the ringing phone for a minute, wondering if she was not calling to provoke me again but I eventually picked it up.
"Hello Mommy," I said into it.
"Hello dear, how are you?"
"Huh fine and how was your day?" I asked her, as I moved from the kitchen to the room.
"It was pretty cool. And yours?"
"Mine was hectic, I can't wait to be independent. I just wanna be a boss on my own or at a higher level" I told her. Of course, I envy those workers at the office part of the company. They are not doing anything practical and stressful.
"If you wanna be independent, you gotta start from somewhere you know?" She said.
"What's that?" I asked and immediately got her point.
"Oh," I mouthed.
"How are your friends since you've got no boyfriend for me to ask after?" My mom said.
"Oh please Mom, stop it. I'm not in the mood at all" I said in a serious tone. I already had this same conversation with Evelyn and now, my mom.
"What about your friends? Evelyn and Adam. I'm asking after Adam most especially, how is he?" She asked.
"Adam's fine" I scorned... Wait she thinks Adam and I will become a thing eventually. Seriously.
"And that reminds me Mommy" Adam and Evelyn's new relationship.
"What's that darling? I'm all Ears... I'm eager to hear the great news"
"Really? How do you know what I'm about to tell you is great news? Well, it is" I smiled.
"Gist me already Rita!"
"Adam And Evelyn are now a thing" I burst.
"A thing? Like? I don't get it. Objects?" My mom pretended not to understand.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes as if she could see me.
Why would she think I might like Adam or he might like me? Yeah, she once said there's no way a guy can be in a clique of mostly females without one of them falling for the guy or vice versa. I know she's indirectly matchmaking Adam and me.
"Mommy, Adam, and Evelyn are now dating! And I'm so happy for them" I said.
"Hmmn I see" She just said, now sounding so low and despondent.
"What Mom?"
"Nothing, anyways I'm glad you're happy. My regards to Evelyn and Adams. They aren't kids and they made the right choice" My mom replied coldly.
"Yeah..yeah," I said then I found out where she was headed
We were quiet for a moment.
"Errm Mommy. Are you there?" I asked. I don't know why I feel guilty now. Of course, I should be. My mom is not happy with me because I have no one yet to call my husband or fiancee or Boyfriend at least.
"Good night Rita, sleep well. My regards to your friends" I could sense mixed feelings of sadness and anger in the way she spoke.
"Oh Mom, don't act like this towards me.. guess what I promise this time..." She hung up the call.
Geez.
She won't even hear me out. I was gonna tell her about my new decision.
I sighed. I walked back to the kitchen to dish out my meal.

I shoved out my phone as I started to eat slowly.
A message came in, whoever the person was is so lucky because I just became active on the kikachat and he or she sent a message to me at the right time. As if he or she has been waiting for my arrival.
Who is this person? I checked the person's biography, Okay now it's a guy this time. His pictures weren't even uploaded yet.
I returned his message which was.
~>"Hello Damsel"
Duh, he doesn't even know if I'm an actual Damsel or not.
~>"Hi" I replied. tryna not to be rude. ~>"May I know who I'm chatting with?" I sent along, almost insolently.
~>"I'm From FAP And GM group"
Not again! Oh God, what have I gotten myself into? Another message from a member of that group. Maybe this one has come to tell me that he is a seer.
~>"Actually Janet Johnson introduced me to you" He added.
What? Why would she do that? I made it clear to her that I'm not interested.
~>"Janet Johnson told me that you are interested in meeting someone and then seeing how it goes like if it may work out. I promise you won't regret having me in your DM" He sent again and I smirked.
Janet Johnson or whatever her name is must be crazy! I rushed back to click on our chat conversation to accuse them and send words that she would never forget and make her regret what she just did but to my greatest surprise, I saw a message from me to her; I was the one that requested that she should get me a partner. I mean when did I ever send this message to her? No matter how badly I want a guy, I don't have the guts to make that request from a total stranger.
Evelyn! It was Evelyn! I sighed in distress.
It was when she collected my phone earlier at work today. Holy shit!
~>"Hello Damsel, are you there?" The strange guy sent another message.
~>"No" A mistake.
~>"I mean, Yeah" I sent.
~>"I forgot that I made such a request to Janet Johnson" I lied, uncomfortably.
~>"Oh I see, well it should be the same reason you joined FAP and GM... To meet someone" He sent.
How smart of him. Duh
~>"You are Rita, what a nice name you've got" He sent another message.
Seems like he's interested in me already not considering the fact we barely know each other.
~>"Thank you" I sent back.
I ought to snub him or rather block his ass as I've always done to other guys but I promised Evelyn to give every guy a chance. Wait what? She knows what she has done ahead and that's why she did a great job convincing me.
~>"And I'm Zane" He introduced himself.
~>"Nice chatting with you Zane" I sent.
~>"We are yet to have a good chat.. we only just introduced ourselves," He said.
~>"So what are you into?" He asked.
~>"I work at a company that deals with Beauty and Cosmetics" I answered reluctantly.
~>"That's a great one"
~>"What about you?" I asked too, Isn't that how to keep a conversation going?
~>"Uhm well, I won't say I have an exact Job or occupation. Let's just say I'm multi-occupied.. you'd get to understand that later" He sent.
I ate my food slowly as I stared at the message. I'm not interested in him. He is a total stranger! And it's not safe, I'd better learn from my experience with Jared.
~>"Hello Rita?" He sent another message when I didn't reply.
~>"Dozing? About to sleep now?" He inquired.
~>"Yes please." I sent.
~>"Oh dear, that's fast. I guess we'll get to know ourselves better tomorrow. Good night and sweet dreams dear" He sent.
~>"Yeah, good night Zane" I replied. I would have forgotten his name non challantly but it's already scribbled at the top of our chat.
