For elves, investing emotions was actually quite challenging.

For a period of time, the Elven King had been rather despondent, although nobody noticed because everyone assumed that was just how he was, either before or after.

For elves, investing emotions meant they had to remember these feelings forever, not just for a hundred or a thousand years, but for eternity.

Elves feared eternity, even though all they have is this "eternity."

"You seem a bit tired," Ildoyer said softly, "Father, is controlling such power exhausting?"
