Chapter 7 - 007| Moon Shined a Shadow

Max, who at this point was confident enough in himself and his magic which he had been practicing. Max looked around to find what caused the noise but couldn't find anything relating to the small size of noise he heard shuffling within the bushes near the waterfall.

"Huh? That's weird. I swear I heard something coming from over here though, maybe I'm just tired?" Max said to himself in a low tone of voice to not scare off animals. Max continued to walk around the waterfall and there is when he met someone.

A man, who's sitting on a rock with long black shiny hair, a pure white robe with no sign of dirt anywhere. He looked up at Max opening his eyes to a color of a bright green grayish color, he stood up. "What is your purpose for being here?" He looked over at Max while speaking.

Max who replied after a few moments of taking in the cleanness of his robe, "I'm just investigating ordered by the king of Finspell kingdom. Who might you be?"

The man walked over the water as if it was part of the land and spoke again. "You may call me Lee. I am someone who lives around here, so by orders of a king you say huh? Very well I understand your position but honestly I don't care. Leave or you shall be killed."

Max thinking he was joking walked a little closer and made a face of that of a joke and said "Come on Lee, don't be like that. We can just cooperate with one another and we can leave each other be afterwards" with his hands up showing his of no harm.

Lee stood there for a moment before a strong pressure of wind came by speeding past Max and Lee at such a speed it left a shockwave where it came from. Max began to yell out in pain. "W-what!!" Max looked over at his arm completely missing. He falls onto the ground after yelling and screaming in pain for minutes before slowly passing out due to blood lost.

Lee who stood there and watched this incident happening, "Well I did warn you. You crossed the line by not respecting what I had said." Lee turned around and walked into a deeper part of the forest.

Jax who suddenly felt a strong pressure of wind coming from where Max is suppose to be at. "Damn, this wind is strong as hell I wonder what's happening with the weather." He looked up at the sky to see the sky completely open without a single cloud in sight. "That's kinda weird considering the wind pressure. Maybe it's going to rain later at some time..?" Jax picked up the pace hurrying up getting his things together to talk to the brothers and mainly Fim.

After a while of walking he finally makes it over to the house where Fim, and his brother lives. "Well, I guess I can just walk in right?"

After a few minutes of pondering about what to do, Jax finally makes his decision and knocks on the door. "Hello, my name is Jax and I heard about your story in the woods a bit ago and I was curious if you could take me."

He continued to knock for a little bit but nobody answered so he ended up choosing to walk away from the house and started to head to the woods that he knew where the story was first made.

"I mean there's nothing much I can do about that if they're not willing to talk to me after all... I might as well head directly to the place."

After thirty-five minutes of walking Jax found himself near a house inside the woods, it was dark, silent, cold, and a small scent within the air of an unknown flower were present all around this house as if someone lived there taking care of flowers like a gardener.

"Hm, I should check out around the back side of the house before trying to go in if nobody lives here...but if someone does knocking would be good, yet I can't risk it."

Jax walked around to the back of the house quietly and looking around at every step he took making sure not to step on any branches that would make to much noise. He came to the back of the house and started to peek inside the house to notice anything and there he saw someone? or a something that was giant, it was covered in a dark blue robe that looked of the highest quality around.

"I should look around for some more clues before leaving or attempting to enter."

Jax thought to himself for a few minutes before walking around to the other side of the house looking for any small gaps, windows, or anything he could fit through and he didn't find anything for him to fit through so he decided to leave and come back another day.

Meanwhile within the dark, creepy, "abandoned" house's basement.

"Yes sir, we've been preparing the poison for over five months. This has got to be the best pot of anything we've made before." "Are you sure it's going to work correctly this time and not fail miserably like last time?"

Someone asked in a confident, deep, and in an almost sarcastic tone.

"Yes sir, I promise this batch won't fail. The only thing we have to do is pour this into the water source which we've already found and it will blend in naturally, leaving no scent, or anything related to us." "Very well then. I think we're done here today then."

As the person turns around towards the stairs a portal opens up and he steps through it disappearing without a trace.

Jax makes his way back to the small village and goes to his room inside the hotel where he's staying and wrote everything he saw, heard, and smelled.

"I need to find out more tomorrow or the sometime soon. I'm not sure if what those boys were saying is true but there is definitely someone or something living there." Jax said to himself while looking around the room before the window catches his eye.

"Woah, the moon is beautiful I've never seen it so... shiny before. I wonder if Max is seeing this view wherever he may be at."
