"I'd love to, but it's against our policy to go out with clients. How about I give you a call once I'm done with work?" she suggested in a hushed tone, clearly well-versed in this kind of situation. This was not her first rodeo at all.
"Sure," I replied.
It was evident that she had taken an interest in me, so I didn't have to fret about being ghosted. I mean, it would make me appear like a complete loser after all the effort I had put into looking good and wealthy.
"By the way, we've been talking so much that I forgot to ask your name," I chuckled, even though I already knew her name.
"I'm really sorry for forgetting, my name is Elaine" she giggled, attempting to ease the awkwardness with a laugh.
Observing her, I realized that this woman was not easy to read. I could sense that she was very calculating.
