Within the next couple of days, no one in the estate got a glimpse of Shelby. Ian kept her behind closed doors and refused visits from anyone, including Rocky, Gabriel and Ingrid, and even his parents! During this time, Shelby never heard from her mother! Not even once!
One would understand that they were out of their minds with worry, thinking of almost all scenarios of what may have happened or what could possibly have gone wrong with Shelby, but Ian, being himself, was adamant and did not listen to anyone. It was not like no one had the courage to stand up to him.
Gabriel was miserable! He would sit on the floor of the corridor in front of Ian's room, looking all gloomy each evening. He did love his newfound venture of schooling, which was why he would be missing from what had become his 'station' during the day. The few workers around couldn't help but pity him.
'It's just like when his father locked himself in that same room.' They thought.
