Remind me again who are you?" Jack said in an irritated tone glaring at Noah, not hiding his displeasure one bit.
"Someone very close to Jane." Noah said with confidence.
"That's a strange thing to say. I'm the only man who is closest to Jane." Jack said arrogantly.
"You meant you were?" He said with a smirk.
Those words were like bullets hurting Jack in the heart. Especially when those words came from an unknown man.
"I see, you are a new fish in the pond and a loyal one at that." Jack said, indicating Noah to be a plaything for Jane.
Jane looked indifferent at his words as if she expected him to come up with a sharp reply like this which had enough impact to break up a normal couple. but she and Noah weren't a couple which he didn't know.
Noah sneered at his provocation.
"At Least not a fish that doesn't know that itself is a fish." He said to Jack, not losing to him in insulting someone with polite words.
