Jay remained silent for about 5 minutes and Grayson stood there patiently waiting for an explanation.
The bodyguard was still outside making and receiving calls, so it was just Grayson, Jay, the unconscious man and the mess the sitting room was in.
"I'm waiting." Grayson reminded Jay.
"I ... I am Jamison D'Amour. I was meant to be the heir to the L'Amour enterprise."
"Whether you are or not, would be confirmed later, what I want to know is why exactly you know where I live?" Grayson was starting to sound agitated.
"I promise our first and second meeting were a complete coincidence." Jay told him.
"And how do you expect me to believe that?" Grayson asked.
"I really am a regular at the club. That first night we met, I was actually going to the club. I saw you getting robbed and you looked pretty well to do. I assumed you wouldn't know how to handle the situation, just like I didn't when I first came to this area. So I stepped in."
"If you really were from a rich family, what could you have wanted from somewhere like this then? Why not just stay in your rich neighborhood? Why on earth would you come to somewhere like this?" Grayson asked with a guarded expression.
"I-" Jay started, about to tell a lie, then changed his mind, deciding to be truthful about this matter.
"Actually, I just wanted freedom. I wanted to be able to do whatever I wanted. I wanted to live other people's lives. So I started wandering around and I stumbled on this place once. I really haven't ever seen you before that first time we met. I honestly don't know anything about you except that your name is Grayson. I guessed you lived her because the last time we met, I followed you and saw you enter this house. That's all I know. Nothing else." Jay confessed.
Grayson said nothing only watching him to know if he was lying or not.
Jay fidgeted nervously under Grayson's scrutiny.
Not seeing any telltale signs of lying, Greyson smiled.
"You say you were meant to be the D'Amour heir?" Grayson asked with that smile.
Jay felt shivered, getting creeped out when he saw that smile but replied anyways. "Yeah. I am."
"Good. Take me to your house." Grayson ordered.
"Wait, what?"
"Is that hard to understand? I asked you to take me to your house." Grayson reiterated.
"Yeah, I heard you. But why?" Jay asked genuinely confused.
Grayson almost facepalmed. "Are you slow? If you're really from the D'Amour family. You'll easily be able to enter. Then I can prove your identity. There's no other way to prove your identity because people have said that you either fell off the face of the earth or you were so deep in despair you decided never to leave your house again. No one knows how you look now, so how else can you prove your identity?"
"Oh... I see. So we'll just go now? We aren't cleaning this up first?" Jay asked.
"No need. I'll have people clean it up. Let's go now." Grayson waved a hand in a dismissive manner, turning and leaving the house.
Jay followed close behind.
"George, call me when you find out what happened. I'm going out. Clean up that mess." Grayson ordered the bodyguard.
George didn't even get the chance to nod before Grayson turned and left with a confused Jay in tow.
Grayson stood beside a car, opening the door to the driver's side and saw Jay standing off to side.
"What're you doing? Get in." He ordered Jay, then entered the driver's seat himself and slamming the door shut in irritation.
Jay quickly got in as well, to avoid Grayson's anger.
He shut the door and they drove off.

Grayon parked outside a building, and Jay got down, going round the car to the system at the entrance.
"It's me." He said looking up at a camera overhead.
"Welcome, young master." A voice replied, and the gates opened.
Jay got back into the car, spreading his hands and raised his brows as though saying 'Happy?' and Grayson having heard the exchange on raised a brow but said nothing.
They drove into the compound and parked directly in front of the house. House wasn't a good enough description. It was a mansion. It was big on the outside alone, making one wonder just how big the inside would be.
Grayson and Jay got down and Jay invited him Grayson in, leading him to the living room.
The house was furnished in a way that definitely screamed 'old money'.
Grayson didn't look much at the surroundings, instead watching Jay.
Jay offered him a seat and he sat down, while Jay took a seat adjacent to his.
A maid walked in not long after with a teapot and two teacups. She set them on the table in front of both men. "Welcome, young master." She said with a curtsy.
Jay only waved his hand dismissively, and she withdrew.
"Is this enough of proof?" Jay asked Grayson, a smile playing on his lips as he poured himself and Grayson some tea, then lifted his own cup to his lips, blowing lightly on it.
"Mn. It is. For such a young master to go out of his way to help me twice is no less than an honour. I can't think of suitable payment, so I have an offer for you." Grayson smiled genuinely.
"Oh?" Jay raised a brow at Grayson's sudden change in addressing him, but didn't ask.
"I can offer you protection. You can do as you like, and I'll ensure everything remains as you want, with no one leaking information about you or knowing your whereabouts, but for me to do that, I'll have to live here. What do you say?" Grayson suggested.
"I'll need to know who exactly you are, before I can consider your offer." The tables had indeed turned.
"Apologies. I am Grayson Montague, Founder and CEO of Montague Construction and Security. Pleasure to meet you, Mr D'Amour." Grayson introduced himself with a smile and an outsretched hand for a handshake.
"A pleasure to meet you, Mr Montague", Jay shook his hand, then came back to the topic. "I understand that you would like to repay me, but it isn't necessary. We can more or less be considered acquaintances on our way to being friends at this point. Thanks is hardly necessary."
"It'll be against my conscience to not repay ones kindness to me, so I would be really happy if you accept my offer." Grayson replied.
"Fine. It's wrong for one to refuse more than twice, so I'll accept. Welcome. Would you be sleeping over tonight? It seems the sky is already getting dark, and your house is in a mess as well. It's my fault. You should just stay over." Jay suggested.
"Oh? Then, if you insist." Grayson agreed.
It seemed odd, how quickly they agreed to each others' terms, but it was out of feeling indebted to each other. What was the harm?
