Chapter 4 - Meeting The Young Girl

The blade was hidden within the glove, and it only took a flick to reveal it. Raven noticed how the locals looked at him as he approached the location. Least to say, the man wasn't too welcomed. Nor did he care.

Raven waited a bit near the school and walked over to a shop to get a drink before witnessing a big man running away from something. Raven quickly got the drink and sprinted towards where the man was running from, only to find a young girl on a stone bench.

The kid looked up to meet Raven's gaze. The two black orbs that stared back looked like they belonged to a Mafian or someone who saw death regularly. Perhaps that was why the man ran away. But could it be? Maybe not. Most kids nowadays look dead.

Raven shook his head and grabbed the photo he had to compare it to the young girl, who was still unmoving as she played with a stray cat.

How could this petite girl possibly be the one who did those murders?! The kid's so tiny that a mere flick from Raven's finger could've sent her flying. But then again, Raven was almost as big-sized as Beast... The poor man was still at a loss for words.

Raven shook his head; this was the girl. Small, Chinese girl with long chestnut locks... Beast did say that she reminded him of a happy meal, and the photo matched up, but the poor man was still in denial. How can this little thing possibly kill so many humans at once and not be built like a Hulk?

"Who are you looking for?" asked the girl as she caught a suspicious guy staring at her.

"I heard that someone here managed to get rid of so many big people at once, and my friends told me it was someone like you, but..."

"How can a sweet little girl like yourself commit a heinous crime?"

Raven smiled as he approached the girl and gently patted her head. The girl merely looked at Raven with the same eyes devoid of life and spoke. Even the cat was scared as it sprinted off.

"If you are looking for the one who killed those bad people, it would be me. However, I can't show this in broad daylight. And why do you want to find me?"

He could've sworn that he'd heard a switchblade being opened. The man flicked his claw out but flicked it again to keep it. Raven was stunned to hear the kid speak about killing people and knew something was up. And wait...

Did she say she couldn't show him because it was broad daylight? How did she know that she couldn't do these things? Or better yet, why does she know about killing people? Moreover, isn't this kid just 12 or something? Why was her English this good?

"Shall I take you to the nearby Mackies for ice cream and wait till the sun goes down? Then you can show me your moves," asked Raven as he shot out a hand to the young girl.

Before the guy could react, the child appeared on Raven's shoulder and slammed her knee into his head, knocking the poor man off balance. Before he could recover, the young girl had a finger at Raven's throat.

"I don't know who you are, but you aren't bad like those people..." said the young girl, titling her to the side.

The man was stunned as he realized the child was holding his gauntlet with his blade. How did that kid topple him with a single kick and take his gauntlet, which had been worn on his hand?! What kind of school did she go to?!

Raven could hardly make a sound as the kid returned the weapon and stepped aside.

"How did you know I wasn't a bad person?" questioned Raven.

"Because you could've used that big blade on me but did not," replied the young girl.

What the hell?! She noticed my gauntlet as well?! The whole idea of that claw was that it was the stealthiest amongst the High Kings' weaponry. How in the world could she have noticed that when he didn't use it?

"You aren't part of those gangs because your weapon looks cool..."

Gangs? Does she mean the Syndicate? Or just random bullies? Raven thought twice about bombarding the young girl with questions. But one thing is for sure, whoever the young girl had killed or who was after her is for malicious intent.

No 12-year-old kid should be this skillful and knowledgeable about killing unless they've been in danger multiple times.

"I have no clue how you managed to do that, but that was impressive," said Raven, standing back up.

"I still want that ice cream…"
