Chapter 53 - Savage man self defense

"As much as I hate to admit it you may be right , the leagues been getting reports all over the globe of increased criminal activity and Hoenn has seen some of that as well." Birch said with a sigh. That was not good news for me at all as I had this ominous feeling that I was going to get dragged into the plot of the game in some manner. It made sense if I am being honest as I was a very tempting target for recruitment until the various teams realize that I didn't care for their modus operandi but at that point they will do one of two things.-

First is choose to ignore me until I become a problem to them or the most likely outcome of them putting me on a hit list as targeted for death. I honestly would prefer not having to deal with the hassle of the teams coming after me but if I needed to I would make sure to cripple whichever decided to do so. I don't do things in a half assed manner so if I'm going to be the enemy of a team I'm going to be their fucking boogey man.-

"Hopefully I won't need to use a spear on anyone at all but it never hurts to be prepared." I said keeping my voice calm and neutral. Birch nodded in agreement "Yeah I can't argue with that. Think you could show May a thing or two about fighting before you go by chance?" he asked hopefully. I knew that he was worried about what she might have to deal with once she gets a handle on her new pokemon and sets out on her own journey to fill the pokedex for him.-

"I'm only here for three more days so I can try but how much she actually picks up is on her." I said seriously and Birch grinned "My May's a bright girl so she'll soak it all up I'm sure." he said before eagerly leaving to go tell May. I sighed as I watched him leave as despite his good intentions he didn't even realized what he wanted her to learn. My philosophy for fights were losing means very bad things as is the case in this world is to go for the kill as soon as possible.-

Drawn out fights leave room for interference or for sheer bad luck to happen and so should be avoided. Birch couldn't know this of course but that didn't mean the signs weren't there. I have mentioned a few times that my pokemon have taken lives before and might have taken his own had I not ordered otherwise before hand. Add on the short conversation and my ability to wield a weapon properly and is should be fairly obvious that I myself am also willing to kill. I made my peace with that inevitability back at the mountain cave shortly after arriving in this world.-

Still Birch had been a gracious host during my stay in the village and if he wanted May to learn how to defend herself a little I had no problem showing her the ropes. I had been in a few fights back on earth and knew the spots to hit to cause problems for your opponent and make ending the fight easier. The best move if you know you are going to fight someone with absolute certainty is to get as close as possible and step on their feet before pushing them.-

The interesting thing about how we move to catch ourselves after we start falling is that we move our feet into a different position to try and correct our balance and recover. If someone is standing on your feet however this is impossible and you will merely hurt yourself trying to do it anyway. The worst place to be in a fight was on the ground and they are at the moment after this giving you plenty of options for quickly ending the fight. Assuming you don't have this option and need to go for a good old fashioned slug fest there are a few spots you want to hit.-

The first is the legs or to be more specific the knees as if you fuck up that joint your opponent loses almost all mobility and might even directly go down to the ground. If they don't allow that for whatever reason it means they are either smart enough to know how bad having that fucked up would be for them or they are experienced enough to understand it first hand. Things get more troublesome at that point as you need to get within striking distance to aim for a few parts of the face , specifically the nose and eyes.-

Anyone who has actually been punched in either of those can tell you how disorienting it is not to mention damaging. Break the nose and now that person who is huffing and puffing air is coughing in the blood going down their throat from their sinuses. You'll find it's quite hard to do pretty much anything if you get caught in a coughing fit. Muscle control for your arms and chest sort of goes out the window for a while until you can adapt. Eyes are nearly as bad to get hit in as even if it's only a single eye you might only see white or black for a couple moments.-

I didn't just dump all of this information on May of course as I was more of a learn via experience kind of guy. Obviously I didn't fight her or anything way over the top like that but merely showed her a few of these things that I could without causing any actual harm. Like I stepped on the tips of her shoes to hold them down before pushing her over and catching her before she fell and hurt herself.-

I explained about how she should always avoid getting on the ground no matter what as I lightly tapped all the places a well placed kick could cause serious damaged while you were down. "What if I have to fight someone like you?" She asked while having to crane her neck to look me in the eyes. "If it's a guy and you catch them off guard go for the groin and I can almost guarantee no matter how big they are they will be defenseless for at least a few seconds. Might even end the fight depending on how sensitive they are." -

"As for a women there is nothing you can do save fighting as dirty as humanly possible , I'm talking sand in the eyes , stomping on toes , the works. Any woman that is my size or bigger and covered in muscles will eat you alive in a fair fight so you need to make it unfair." I said seriously. "That's rather brutal isn't it?" May asked with a disgusted and reluctant look. "If losing the fight meant death , rape or worse I'd imagine being brutal sounds rather appropriate to avoid it , no?" I asked rhetorically since I knew what the answer was.
