On the immensely hot planet of Straius, Venice is sent a message from the King of the Crescents. Unknowingly, a man, whom Venice does not know, spoke in her name. What her reaction is, we are soon to find out.
Scarlet City, Straius
"What do you have for me today?", I asked unenthusiastically. "My queen, I have a letter for you. From the King of the Crescents", my messenger related. I never know whether to expect something kind or hostile from other elite races. Especially when it comes to Christian Sadean. He always seems to be ecstatically agitated, and my mind reading ability comes to know use with him as he can negate other mind readers just as I can; only the most powerful of people can.
"Uhh… my queen?", Carlos checked in with me. "Yes, bring it to me", I commanded softly. Carlos is one if my favorites, respectful, understanding, disciplined, and uniquely caring.
"Here", he cautiously handed me the glowing silver letter. Opening it, a bright flash met my eyes. Not bothered by it, I began reading…
'Dear Queen of the Stellars,
I have received a malicious message from someone who claims to be of you. I would like to test its integrity by convening with you in my city. You may bring as many allies and/or guards as you wish, if need be.
With kind regards, Christian'
"Mhm", I made a displeased hum. "Would you like me to relay a message to him, my queen?", Carlos mumbled quietly, intimidated by my hard gaze. "Yes, tell him in person, not by letter. Inform him I will be arriving the day after tomorrow with a legion", I explained, irritation ripping at my voice. "But my queen, he might take that as an implication of hostility", he warned me, keeping his voice light to not sound disrespectful. "I beg to differ", I grinned smugly. "Then I will leave right away Your Highness", he assured me. "And by the way, you look as refulgent as ever", he complimented with a blush. "Thank you, now be on your way", I replied graciously. With a light nod he was off in an instant.
I have to admit, I've been quite bored lately and not much has gone on. The only reason I agreed to this meeting is because I want to get in on some action. I might even start some conflict just to have a little fun. All I have to look forward to today is a report from Alia, I recently sent her to gather info from Venierreaze and she is supposed to return today. With that in mind I stood up and left my throne to fetch myself a meal.
5 Hours Later
"Alert the queen of my return. I have vital information for her", I heard a familiar voice echo from the other room. "She's right in there", a guard directed her. I heard a barely audible 'thanks' from her.
"My queen", she greeted respectfully. I turned with a benevolent smile. "Alia, I told you, you can call me by my name", I reminded. "Yes, but I would prefer to regard you as my queen. Keeps me humble", she explained. "Well, what do you have for me?", I asked curiously. "Something crucial to our mission", she concisely teased. "Don't tickle my ear, what is it?", I ushered her to continue with a hand gesture. "You wanted enough Gael Quora for ground units and some Tisse, correct?", she wanted confirmation. "Yes", I said with skeptical eyes. "Unfortunately, it won't be so easy. You see, the Tisse are guarded by a neighboring race that are sworn to protect the Tisse at all costs, some ancient pact I guess. As for the Quora, it's easier to kill a Quora than to catch on alive and tame it", she gave a detailed explanation. "It is easy, make a deal with this race in my name and a truce to receive the Tisse. And Quora just need dominance, show unwavering authority and they obey", I gave a simple solution.
She made a 'I'm so over this' kind of face at my suggestion. She took a deep breath as if composing herself to not say something she might regret. "My queen, look it's—", she began with a certain frustration in her voice. "Alia, I'm not a fool. This is a very simple task, not just for me, but for literally anyone. You will go and do as I have commanded and I do not want you in my presence again until you have the Quora and the Tisse. Do you hear?", I interrupted her angrily, irritation building in my throat. I hated talking to people like this, but if she would listen and understand the first time without argue, I would be much more patient with her.
Jumping out of my thoughts I realized the surprised expression on her face. She looked to be dismayed and all her frustration vanished. I felt a little bad for coming at her like that, but she should know I don't take arguing very lightly. To me, arguing with someone of authority is about as disrespectful as you can get. If I make a dumb decision, let me. We live and we learn, right?
"Yes, I understand", she recomposed herself and answered with the same strength in her voice as normal, which gave me a little relief.
I gave her a slight nod to let her know I heard. Without hesitation she lifted up into the air and took off, shining like a bright morning star.
