Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Warhound, Let Me Tell You

The concept of "recent days" is ambiguous, dependent on mutual conventions between parties.

However, it's clear that a Martian sage and a Barbarus farmer have no such mutual understanding.

After the incident, Hades first spoke with Jin.

Then, he meticulously prepared some data the Legion needed, as well as his analysis on how the 14th Legion could maximize the sustainable exploitation of Martian resources.

But the ship from Terra didn't arrive. Instead, the ship bound for the 12th Legion was set to depart.

Warhound Peres was well-regarded among the Martian Techmarines. He was meticulous yet amiable, and more calm and gentle than most Warhounds.

He got along with most Techmarines, as long as the topic wasn't about the Primarchs.

So, unsurprisingly, the night before his departure, most Techmarines came to bid him farewell.

First, the Iron Warriors gifted him a rare #478 screw and its matching nut. Then, the Imperial Fists presented a book on architecture. This was followed by the Ultramarines' meticulously stitched banner, the Salamanders' exquisitely carved combat dagger, and art pieces from both the Blood Angels and the Emperor's Children. The Space Wolves didn't bring gifts, though the game they ate that day was provided by them.

Despite the lively scene, a usually prominent figure was noticeably absent.

"Perhaps it's because of that incident."

A few days ago, an anomaly occurred during a hunting trip with the Wolves and the White Scars. There was an unexpected explosion, and Hades, covered in blood, was at the center of it.

The Techmarines didn't pry.

So, Peres' farewell continued without the lively Death Guard. Everyone focused on the evening's main event, avoiding any mention of Hades.

As the night deepened and most Techmarines left, only a few Warhounds remained, planning to stay up and share some final words with Peres.

However, the hall's door slowly opened.

The last missing figure arrived, fashionably late.

"Ah, sorry I'm late," Hades said apologetically to Peres.

Peres blinked in surprise. Why was Hades here now?

"I didn't prepare a farewell gift due to some personal reasons," Hades began. "But I have a sort of prophetic suggestion. Interested in hearing about your Primarch?"

Peres raised an eyebrow, looking around to see the same surprise mirrored in his fellow Warhounds.

"Go on."

Hades pulled up a chair and sat down. "When our Primarch returned, the Death Guard's seers received a prophecy."

Sorry, Fernando.

"In the vicinity of the Ultima Segmentum, another Primarch might appear."

The Warhounds exchanged glances.

"Our seers couldn't pinpoint the exact location, but it's around here." Hades projected a map, circling a region near Nostramo.

Hades couldn't directly intervene, but he hoped the Warhounds could find their Primarch before any irreversible fate befell them.

"Later, our seers divined again, and the message was 'caution'."

Peres looked at Hades, his mouth dry. Could he trust this seemingly random prophecy?

"Thank you, brother," Peres finally said. "Regardless, I'll remember this and bring it back to my Legion."

Hades sighed. He'd done all he could.

Back in the future, aboard the *Determined Resolve*, in the command room.

"Sir, Techmarine Peres from the 3rd Company, who just finished training on Mars, requests an audience."

The Legion Master, busy with paperwork, didn't look up. "Let him discuss it with his Forge Master."

The messenger hesitated, then spoke, "He claims it's about the Primarch of the 12th Legion."

The Legion Master's head snapped up. "What did you say?!"

The messenger repeated the message.

The Legion Master frowned. "If he's playing a joke, I won't spare him. Let him in."

The Legion Master looked out the window, lost in thought. He remembered when the Death Guard were still called the Dusk Raiders.

But he hoped the prophecy was true.
