Chereads / Apocalyptic Kings System / Chapter 16 - A sign

Chapter 16 - A sign

Mike, Sasha and Sarah journeyed after that for weeks that also turned to months. Not knowing what direction to go they had decided to pick one at random and stick to it.

"This is going to be one hell of a journey and story one day," I said to both the girls with a small chuckle. We then headed towards the sun which would be east and seemed to be slightly past morning.

"Hmm, why do you say that, you don't hope that we can have our old lives back?" Sarah said to me a little shocked that I did not show any yearning for my former life.

I just shook my head, "I don't know why I would want my former life back. Look around us Sarah, this isn't something we can change, I am just going with the flow and I am going to be at the top in this new world." I really did not know what I really wanted I just knew this was something that was planned and it keeps drawing me in, but I will own this new life.

We walked east for about 3 days before we decided to stop and clear our rampent minds of deterierating thoughts.

"We have been walking for 3 days and nothing to see. No cities, towns, not even a sign of life like a shack," Sasha was practically screaming but more talking really loud out of frustration.

"Calm down Sasha, we are in a new world one that we don't even know the bare minimum of. A journey like the one we are on is simply for our sake in finding what to expect from this world." Sarah explained to our impatient Sasha.

"We know that their are monsters, beasts, a system that gives quests and who knows what else. We are not native to this new world so we must find people or natives that we can converse with to help us"

Sarah continued for a little longer explaining it to Sasha before we continued our journey. We walked until the sun started to set before we started to make camp.

"Ok, can you two set up camp while I go hunt for some food," I asked the girls before they both nodded to me and I went off to find food for us to eat.

(In a village not far away)

In a temple like structure sits an elderly lady, cross legged with palms up and resting on her knees. Slowly breathing out she opens her eyes and speaks....

"It seems that its almost time," Is all that was said before she close her eyes and started to meditate once again.

----

Rina stood guard infront of the door that led to the elders meditation chamber. She did not know or understand why and how someone could be in one spot all day "meditating."

While in her thoughts another guard came running up to her panting. He took a second before he could speak, must have ran from very far away to be this breathless, then he spoke.

"I have a message for the elder," he spoke no other words only waiting for a response that would allow him access to the elders meditation room.

Seeing no other way around peacfully she backed up to the door and lightly knocked on it in some sort of code. Only waiting seconds before the door opened and the elder was standing right there.

"Guardsmen, what is it that I can help you with?" The elder said with an authoritive but yet gentle voice.

"I have urgent news from the west," spoke the man before continuing, "It has to do with that mysterious rock that we couldn't break."

Upon hearing this the elders eyes shot wide open but she kept her calm apperace. She cut right to the quick and said for the guard to come in and then guestered towards Rina to follow.

After locking the door Rina stood off to the side to guard and watch the elder just in case the informant had any ideas.

"I don't have much time so make it quick," the elder told the man.

"Ok, that monstrous size of a rock was actually a dungeon but not just any dungeon, a private dungeon that lasted probably since the fall."

The talk was meant to be short but ended up being longer than intisipated.

Roughly 3 hours after the doors closed the informant, elder and Rina. The informant bowed at the waist and then headed back off to his post wherever that was.

"What was all that talk about a man and 2 women and that dungeon?" Rina asked the elder who happened to be her grandmother.

"Well it is about something from my time so long ago, and about your future. I have forseen this small group in my dreams and even though they are new, they are strong and determined. I only want the best for you and to keep you safe."

Rina was looking at her grandmother like she sprouted a second head.

"What do you mean you had a dream of a small group? I know of adventurers going about but what makes this mysterious group so special?" Rina asked only to be given a sly smirk and the silent treatment.

"Fine, keep your secrets," Rina said while making an about-face and walking towards... somewhere.

"Ummm..... what are we doing now?" Rina asked as her face started to redden due to embaressment.

"We are going to call it for the day, go rest or walk around you are relieved for the day," The elder said as Rina bowed and went to her quarters.

Left alone she started to feel a little pressure from her dreams, "I am truly terrified for what is coming, please make it here soon."

(Mike)

I wondered through the woods aimlessly while looking through my amazing haul I had in my inventory.

2x Deer

2x Hog

6x Squirels

"This should be good enough. I don't know about them but I feel like I could eat multiple cows alone." feeling like I had accomplished something I started to head back.

I was walking for a very short while, while I was looking at my inventory I took another step like usual until I fell.

I tried to catch myself quickly but the trap was made well enough for me not to be able to regain my balance and get up quickly.

"FUCK!" I cursed falling for what felt like minutes but that was only the case for me to crash into the ground and smacking my head hard causing a loud thud, and when that happened I blacked out.
