Just as we were about to depart, the middle-aged gentleman interjected with a firm yet urgent tone, halting our progress momentarily.
"Wait!"
As the middle-aged soldier approached us, his eyes scanning our armored figures, he seemed to hesitate for a moment before speaking. "Where are the two guys who went with you?" he inquired, his tone edged with suspicion.
We remained silent, exchanging quick glances amongst ourselves. After a few tense seconds, the soldier massaged his temples wearily and muttered, "huhhh, So, they were killed?"
We nodded in agreement, letting him know that his guess was right. He didn't waste any time and signaled for us to go quickly. It was clear he was in a hurry. "Go," he said sharply.
We didn't waste a moment and hurried through the same paths where Thomas, Mia and Lisa had went.
