One day she had a particularly heated argument with Uncle Rosward and the next day she prepared a bag for me, it was filled with some sort of food.
"You wanted to leave, Ali?"
"Huh?"
"We will do as you say now. You're going to leave this room but listen to me, you must do everything I say, understood?"
"Yes!"
I couldn't believe it, she was going to allow me out after fifteen years! Finally, I would see the world outside and what awaited me was a world filled with SICK diseased people. The disease was nothing like I expected it to be... it was worse.
"What are you stopping for? Walk!"
BAANG!
"Look my dog is bigger than yours!~"
"You dare speak loudly to your master, huh!?"
PA!
"Please help me! SOMEBODY!"
"Tch, this one is not working properly, kill it".
...
'W-What is this?' I remember I thought back then when I saw the blatant dehumanisation of people, and how they were treated like nothing but pure trash.
Special races I had never seen, people I was curious about. Women were naked and being walked like dogs. Mermaids, fishmen... so many races and instead of treating them with the love a curiosity they deserved. They were being stepped on, and treated like nothing but trash.
"Listen well, Ali. This is the disease... if you get infected, you will start treating people like that too, you understand!? So stay away and do what I say".
"Yes, mom..."
I felt so disgusted that everything around me... that I just wanted to leave with my mom as far as we could go. How could I have been living around these unsightly people for fifteen years? All of a sudden, I felt thankful to her for keeping me in that room.
"Oh, Saint Leia, she finally left that room, so that girl must be it, the 'stain'…"
"Yes, it is the stain... don't look at her, your eyes may stop working".
"Stain? Mom what do they mean".
"Don't listen to them and come with me, Ali. Don't pay attention just look forward, look up at the sky, it is beautiful isn't it?"
"It is!"
I was so focused on the unsightly that I had forgotten how beautiful the sky looked before all I could do was see it through a window, but now it was all over me.
"Keep looking at the sky… don't watch anything else".
"But I want to speak to them, mom there must be a reason".
"Ali, be obedient!"
I released her and approached a kid. They were all wearing these clothes that looked so uncomfortable with balls on their heads. The moment they saw me they stopped playing.
"Ugh, get away from me you filthy stain!"
He pushed me to the ground and as a response, my mother pushed him.
"How dare you touch my daughter?! Filthy pig!"
Silence took over the plaza as shocked gazes conglomerated on her as she took me away.
"Mom, why did he do that?"
"Stop asking questions we have to hurry up".
"Where are we going?".
"Far away… where there is no disease".
"Is father… not coming anymore?"
"No, he is never going to come, we have to fend for ourselves. Here, cover your face".
She gave me a mantle that I wrapped around my head. We arrived at some sort of mechanical device, my mother rushed us in and used what looked like a key to activate it. It eventually worked and she fell on her knees.
"Thank you so much, Saint Isabel".
My ignorant self ignored everything around me when I saw the skies below, I ignored my mother's anxiety, I ignored the banging on the elevator's door. I ignored everything just to focus on that progressively approaching sky. It was a vessel that descended from Marie Geoise and into the red port at the edge of the red line. I saw the sky and then the boundless sea for the first time.
"Once we land down there I need you to be quiet, we can't allow anyone to see us".
"Are we criminals? Are the marines coming for us?" Internally I felt thrilled as her hand shivered.
"Yes, we did something very bad, so we have to go".
"What did we do?"
"Not be infected, because we don't have that filthy disease, we must leave" She caressed my face, the journey in the vessel took ten minutes. I know because I will never forget that moment. It was the last happy moment of my life.
When we arrived down there my eyes marvelled once again. It was the sea up close, it looked a lot more blue!
"Mom it is the sea!"
It was my first time seeing it. It was supposed to be a happy moment. But not for me. She tucked me in a boat and gave me the bag she prepared for me alongside something else.
"This is an eternal pose. I taught you how to follow it".
"Mom".
"You know how to follow it, Ali!?"
"I do… but I've never done it before! Y-You can do it, Mom, let's go" I tried to pull her in the boat but she evaded me and my heart sank.
"I believe you, my dear, you can do it without mommy".
She released the rope and pushed my boat. It was there that my heart broke for the first time in what would be a succession of events that would eventually turn me into a lifeless husk. This was only the first one...
I would never be able to love again, I would never forget this pain.
"The truth is… mother is infected. So you have to leave on your own sweetie *sob* I love you..."
"Don't lie to me, mom!"
Once I was far away, I saw them... a group of guards coming down on her as she tried to push them.
"There she is, apprehend her!"
They jumped on my mother.
"Saint Leia Esquivel, Saint Jay Garcia Saturn has sentenced you to execution for treason to our noble race! TAKE HER!"
"LEAVE HER! LEAVE MY MOM!"
One of those bastards smashed his rifle against my mom's head and she passed out, my hand extended forth and transformed into sand but I was already too far away to do anything. I had to see it all, and not be able to do anything.
The last thing I saw was them looking at me with their wicked expressions... thinking that I wasn't going to be able to survive by myself in the sea.
For the next two months, all I could see was water, sun, clouds… abandonment, hopelessness, sadness. I asked myself if it was worth living and always reaching the same conclusion. I had the food she gave me. But I didn't eat it.
Little did I know. Those two months adrift in the sea between the Red Port and the Sabaody Archipelago would be the most peaceful moments of my new life. What came after that was raw terror, my mother was no longer there for me to shoulder reality.
She didn't prepare me for the wickedness of the world. But I could never blame her for anything.
The only one at fault... it was all his fault. THAT SON OF A B*TCH, ROCKS D. XEBEC!
Because he never showed up, he abandoned me and my mother to our fate!
RUMBLE!!!
I felt power rush in me like never before. I have been stronger for a while now. Thanks to Roger, thanks to Dragon, thanks to Veyron.
BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!
I smashed his face with the same intensity I would have done if I had Rocks in front of me, I would make sure that motherf*cker is unrecognisable!
BAANGGG!!!
He was blasted away, destroying a massive portion of the castle but I didn't feel at ease. I promised myself to get Pluton just so I could flatten Marie Geoise.
TO RUTHLESSLY MASSACRE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE MOTHERF*CKERS... THAT IS MY BIRTHRIGHT!
"Ali! What are you doing?!"
Veyron shouted at me, grasping my smocking palm as the noise of guards rushing up the stairs and people panicking became the norm.
Oh yes... that's right, I don't need Pluton.
I have 'Astrape & Bronte' right here!
