"I told you not to walk away from me," Lucien said, his voice calm but filled with authority.
"I thought I locked the door," Elvira said, attempting to justify herself.
"Don't look so surprised. This is my room, after all. I have a spare key," Lucien explained.
Without hesitation, Elvira used her knee to deliver a swift kick to Lucien's balls, causing him to groan in pain and release his hold on her.
"What the fuck was that for?" Lucien exclaimed, his voice laced with both pain and confusion.
"I told you to let me go, didn't I?" Elvira snapped back.
"No, you didn't," Lucien retorted.
Elvira's voice dripped with sarcasm as she replied, "Oh yeah, I didn't. I just wanted to hit you." Lucien rolled his eyes in response.
Taking a moment to collect himself, Lucien spoke in a softened tone. "Look, I just wanted to know where you went."
Elvira remained steadfast, her stubbornness evident. "And I didn't wanna tell you. So can you please leave?"
"You don't have to be so damn stubborn all the time," Lucien exhaled, turning to leave.
Elvira muttered under her breath, "Asshole."
Lucien returned to the guest room, stepping into the warm cascade of the shower and exhaling a sigh. As the water droplets hit the shower floor, his mind wandered to his conflicting emotions regarding Elvira's departure. He couldn't understand why he had become so angry when she left.
Perhaps his possessiveness and anger issues were the reason he hadn't found a mate. He acknowledged that he would be likely to harm any guy who showed interest in her, as she belonged to him and him alone.
However, Elvira defied his expectations by not showing fear and instead standing up to him. Surprisingly, her defiance amused him, causing a smile to creep onto his lips.
Emerging from the shower, towel wrapped around his waist and droplets glistening on his raven hair, Lucien couldn't shake the feeling that something about Elvira still puzzled him. Seeking answers, he mentally reached out to Blaze, his inner wolf.
"Blaze," Lucien called out in his mind.
"What do you want now?" Blaze's annoyed response echoed in Lucien's thoughts.
Lucien asked, "Can you sense her wolf?"
Blaze confirmed, "Yes, but it's faint."
"That's what I thought," Lucien mused. "It's as if her wolf is present, but not fully there."
Agreeing, Blaze added, "Yeah, sometimes I can't sense it either."
Lucien realized that there were many mysteries he needed to uncover about Elvira. But one thing Blaze couldn't deny was her beauty.
"She's beautiful," Blaze remarked.
Brushing off Blaze's comment, Lucien replied, "I don't know what you're babbling about, Blaze."
Muttering to himself, Blaze called Lucien a moron, which Lucien chose to ignore.
Dressed now, Lucien made his way to Elvira's room, or rather, the room he couldn't help but claim as his own. He knocked on the door and Elvira's voice yelled for him to come in.
"It's open," she called out.
Lucien walked in and his jaw dropped at the sight of Elvira wearing one of his shirts and nothing else. It fit her perfectly and looked even better on her than it did on him.
"What do you want?" Elvira asked, breaking him out of his thoughts. Lucien couldn't help the teasing smile that etched on his lips.
"Don't get any ideas, I just wore your stupid shirt because I had nothing to wear to bed" elvira said
Clearing his throat, Lucien replied, "I didn't even say anything."
Elvira glared at him, but he couldn't help the teasing smile that crept onto his lips.
"I just came to tell you that tomorrow I'll be taking back my room," Lucien announced.
Elvira questioned, "Then where am I gonna sleep?"
Lucien responded, "There are many rooms in this house. Choose the one you like."
Elvira sarcastically remarked, "You're giving me permission to choose? How generous of you"
Rolling his eyes, Lucien replied, "Yes, I am. Unless you want to stay in my room because you're obsessed with me."
Elvira coldly retorted, "Not in a million years."
Lucien's laughter echoed through the room, and Elvira couldn't help but notice how good he looked when he laughed.
"If that's all you came to tell me, you can leave now."
"Alright then" lucien responded and turned to leave
Elvira called out, stopping him in his tracks, "Hey, wait!"
Turning back, he asked, "Yeah, what is it?"
Curiously, Elvira questioned, "You never told me where all of you went today."
Lucien countered, "You didn't tell me where you went, so why should I tell you where we went?"
Elvira acknowledged with a touché, and Lucien left her room, leaving her to ponder the lingering connection between them.
The next morning, Elvira lay sound asleep, blissfully unaware of the impending disruption to her peaceful slumber. The quiet creaking of the door signaled the entrance of her friends, Kylie and Layla, who exchanged knowing glances and suppressed giggles.
In unison, they cleared their throats and unleashed a synchronized, ear-piercing scream, "ELVRIAAAAAAAAA!"
Startled by the sudden auditory assault, Elvira's eyes snapped open, and she tumbled unceremoniously from her bed. Kylie and Layla burst into laughter at her bewildered reaction, clearly amused by their own antics.
"What the hell," Elvira grumbled as she gathered herself from the floor, her hair tousled, and her expression a mixture of confusion and irritation.
Unable to contain their laughter, Kylie managed to say, "We couldn't resist."
Elvira couldn't help but shoot them an exasperated look. "You could've woken me up like normal people."
Still chuckling, Layla chimed in, "You should've seen your face. It was hilarious."
Kylie added, "We should've recorded you."
Elvira rolled her eyes, unimpressed by their shenanigans. With a sigh, she got back on her feet, still clearly perplexed by the sudden wake-up call.
"Would you mind explaining to me why both of you are here and why you're trying to damage my eardrums?" Elvira inquired with an annoyed glare.
Kylie finally revealed the purpose of their early-morning visit. "We're going shopping, so get in the shower."
Elvira responded with a groan, "I hate shopping."
Kylie, however, wasn't about to let her objections slide. "Well, suck it up. You don't have any clothes, and my brother has graciously agreed to let us use his credit card."
Layla then interjected, "Honestly, I'm surprised he did; he never releases his credit card."
Elvira, not one to be swayed easily, had a simple solution in mind. "Look, I don't need new clothes. I'll just wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt."
Layla's reaction was immediate and dramatic. "What is wrong with you, woman?" She shivered at the mere thought.
Kylie, losing her patience, raised her voice. "Get your cute butt in that shower right now!"
Elvira relented with a grumble, "Alright, fine. No need to yell, jeez."
Twenty minutes later, Elvira emerged from the shower, wrapped in a towel around her body and another wrapped around her head to dry her hair.
Layla's reminder was clear and concise, "Get dressed so we can leave."
Elvira groaned but complied, getting dressed and taking a moment to style her hair.
With a sigh, Kylie announced, "Alright, let's head out."
As Elvira followed her friends, she couldn't help but think, "I'm so not looking forward to this."
