Ye ZhengYu and his family members felt like the clock's hands were frozen in time.
Finally, it was four o'clock when Huo Yao and her sons arrived at Old Ye's mansion.
Huo Yao was dressed casually in a black shirt and blue jeans, but her three little ones were dressed meticulously.
They all wore white and navy blue shirts, black small suit pants with their shirts neatly tucked in, and black leather shoes.
Butler Wang informed Ye ZhengYu and his family members about their arrival, and everyone hurried towards the front door to welcome them.
Upon seeing the little ones and their mother so well-dressed and formal, Ye ZhengYu felt rooted to the spot.
He stared at them with wide eyes, and Yangyang, Yuanyuan, and Ranran also gazed at him with astonishment.
They could tell he must be their father, as their facial features resembled his by about 50-60 percent.
Mrs. Ye couldn't hold back her tears after seeing them, and everyone became even more emotional upon seeing Huo Yao.
Grandfather Ye broke the tension, saying, "Yaoyao, come inside quickly with them."
Huo Yao nodded, and Ye ZhengWei, with red eyes, called out, "Sister-in-law," as he knelt in front of his nephews, asking, "Can I hug you?"
Ranran and Yuanyuan nodded, while Yangyang remained silent. Ye ZhengWei immediately picked up Yuanyuan and Ranran, struggling to lift Yangyang.
Just as Huo Yao was about to speak, Ye ZhengYu stepped forward and bent down to pick up Yangyang, saying, "Let me do this."
Yangyang was caught off guard by this sudden change in gravity. He looked at the man who had picked him up. His uncle also held him in his arms, but being in his supposed father's arms seemed even better, and he kept his feelings hidden.
Yangyang thought he had concealed his feelings well, but Ye ZhengYu and Huo Yao both noticed.
A small smile appeared at the corner of Ye ZhengYu's lips; it felt good to hold his children in his arms.
He turned to look at his other two children, who also stared at him. He wasn't sure if he had interpreted it correctly, but they seemed a little unhappy.
He suddenly called out to his brother, "Ah Wei, give them to me too."
Ye ZhengWei looked at his brother blankly; he was already holding one of his children, so why was he taking the others? Nonetheless, he handed them over to Ye ZhengYu.
Ye ZhengYu placed the two children in his other arm.
Huo Yao observed this amusing scene with a blank expression.
Now, the three little ones and the adults engaged in a staring contest.
After a while, they were still looking at each other without moving.
Other family members also turned to watch this scene.
Grandpa Ye's lips twitched. When did his grandson become so foolish? He asked, "What are you doing standing there stupidly with your children?"
Mrs. Ye and Mr. Ye also wanted to ask if their son had become senseless in front of his own children.
Ye ZhengYu also realized he had done something foolish. Without a word, he carried them into the drawing room, sat down, and placed them in his lap. His sons continued to look up at him.
Ye ZhengYu gently stroked their heads and asked, "Do you guys know our relationship?"
They nodded.
"Then what should you call me?"
"Daddy," replied Ranran, and then understood that he had fallen into his father's trap.
Ye ZhengYu smiled and looked at his other two sons. "Won't you call me?"
Yuanyuan also called out, "Daddy."
Yangyang pursed his lips, clearly refusing to call.
Ye ZhengYu placed Yuanyuan and Ranran on the sofa and made eye contact with his cold-looking son. "Why?"
"Because you bullied Mommy before, and that's why Mommy left and gave birth to us alone."
Huo Yao raised her eyebrow upon hearing her son's words, and the others had a surprised look.
Ye ZhengYu was also shocked by his son's words. "Who told you this?"
"Uncle," Yangyang replied.
Ye ZhengYu paused and then looked at his son with a deep gaze. "Daddy wanted to apologize to your mommy, but your mommy left me without saying anything, and I couldn't find her. That's why I wasn't there when she gave birth to you guys."
He turned to look at Huo Yao and then back at his son, whispering, "Daddy will kneel on durian later as punishment. Is that okay?"
Yangyang shook his head and whispered back, "Mommy has to forgive you."
Ye ZhengYu pinched his son's chubby cheek. "Okay. What about calling me Daddy first?"
Yangyang called out in a small voice, "Daddy."
Ye ZhengYu ruffled his neatly arranged hair into a mess. "Good boy."
