Chapter 96 - Memories

In Alex's manor, besides Tony who is his younger brother, there weren't many male individuals. The rest were either Alex's women or his students—nine people in total.

As Tony emerged from the bathroom, his eyes lit up at the sight of a pile of delicious food on the table. He reached for it, but Alex, with a look of disgust, redirected him to the bathroom.

"You didn't wash your hands, and yet you want to eat?" Alex teased, urging Tony to clean up.

"Did Howard kick you out?" Raven, wearing a smile, asked Tony.

Over the years, living a life of luxury and refinement had bestowed upon Raven a lady like demeanor. Time hadn't taken away her charm; if anything, it had enhanced it. This was true for both Emma and Jessica.

"Absolutely, why else would this kid come to us? There are many beauties in the city center," Alex chuckled and shook his head.

"Alex, another mutant has appeared in Mississippi."

Charles' voice interrupted their conversation, and Alex immediately got up and walked outside.

"Eat first, I will check the situation with Charles," he instructed before teleporting away.

"Be careful on the road," Emma cautioned.

"Yes," Alex agreed and vanished.

"Is Professor Alex always this busy?" Kitty asked, glancing at the piano nearby.

"Not always, but I don't know why lately, more and more mutants have started awakening. It used to be very leisurely," Jean explained softly.

....

Meanwhile, Alex teleported to Charles' Xavier Manor, finding Charles already waiting for him.

"Why the rush? Can't you see I'm about to have dinner with my family?" Alex grumbled.

"I sensed the emergence of a new mutant. She has the ability to absorb memories and even supernatural powers from others," Charles informed him, his expression grave.

Alex was taken aback by the news. Wasn't this Rogue? It seemed like the beginning of the X-Men 1 storyline unfolding before them.

However, Charles pondered, how was it possible for Rogue to absorb others' memories?

"How did you find out?"

"I detected a disturbance caused by a girl with significant mental abilities at the scene. Her mutation poses a serious threat, not only to herself but potentially to others as well."

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go. I can still make it to dinner with my family," Alex, not one for lengthy discussions, seized Charles by the shoulder and teleported them both to Mississippi.

Using his telepathic powers, Charles pinpointed the location of Rogue, who was currently in a state of turmoil, having absorbed the memories of a man named Cody.

Anna was inside the residence where she had unwittingly absorbed Cody's memories.

"Wow, this little one has no mental powers but absorbed all the memories of a person. Now it's unclear who she is," Alex commented, sensing Anna's current state.

"This is really bad. She's in a very precarious condition. We need to help her," Charles, whose brainwave amplifier had absorbed numerous Mutant memories, spoke. Thanks to the protection of his psychic powers, Charles hadn't succumbed to insanity.

Anna, lacking this protection, no longer knew who she was.

"This girl needs the help of psychic power," Alex closed his eyes, and his formidable psychic abilities entered Anna's mind, delicately separating Cody's memories from Anna's.

Anna felt a moment of dizziness, and even though it was brief, it left her feeling uncomfortable.

Staring at herself in the mirror, she finally remembered who she was.

"I'm Anna Marie, not Cody. But what are these memories..." Anna's face displayed the pain she felt.

"Alex, you shouldn't intrude into her thoughts," Charles frowned.

"But it's undeniable that it's the quickest way to solve the problem, isn't it? If we let this girl go unchecked, who knows what might happen?" Alex shrugged, speaking casually.

"That's true," Charles sighed and said, "We'll bring her back now. Her ability poses a risk to herself and others. We need to teach her how to control her abilities."

"Okay, leave it to me," Alex nodded and swiftly moved to Cody's house door.

Knock Knock.

Alex lightly knocked on the door.

Anna rubbed her eyebrows; the lingering effects of the integration of two memories still hadn't subsided.

She hurriedly walked to the door and opened it.

Alex smiled, looking at the girl in front of him. "Hi, Anna."
