Chapter 53 - Intensive Training

"Well said!" With a round of applause, Alex stood outside the window, a smile gracing his face. He nodded at Sebastian and greeted him, "Long time no see, Sebastian!"

"Alex!" Sebastian was taken aback but smiled warmly, replying, "Long time no see, Alex. You know, I've been searching for you. You and Eric are the best companions. I've always wanted to invite you to join us. Together, we can create a glorious future for Mutants."

"Actually, I detest nuclear radiation. Starting a nuclear war? I can't agree with that!"

Alex smiled, shook his head, and replied calmly, "Leave, Sebastian, or you'll regret it. I don't want to kill you now; you're just a test for these little guys."

"Your face is truly infuriating!"

The Red Devil roared, appearing behind Alex swinging a long knife down at him.

"You're envious!"

Alex waved his hand, and the Red Devil's knife twisted instantly, bouncing back like a spring, hitting the Red Devil's head heavily, causing him to scream in pain.

Riptide clasped his hands together, summoning a storm towards Alex.

"Can't you come up with something new for once?" Alex extended a finger, pinpointing the storm, causing it to dissipate.

Flicking his finger, a steel pipe bounced from the ground, hitting the Riptide's head.

Riptide staggered and fell to the ground, stars dancing in his eyes.

"Now, it's our turn!" Alex beckoned Sebastian.

"As you wish!" Slightly angered, Sebastian absorbed Alex's energy beam and unleashed it towards him.

A scorching beam of light descended upon Alex.

"Oh this again?"

Alex reached out, grabbing the energy beam and making it vanish instantly.

"You..."

Sebastian was shocked, stammering, "Isn't your ability magnetism? How can you..."

"My ability is stronger than you think!" Alex extended his hand, and the metal chairs in the living room twisted around Sebastian like a rope, binding him tightly.

"You've used this trick before!"

A beam of hot energy emerged from Sebastian's fingertips, resembling a laser sword, cutting through the metal bindings.

Then, he found himself tied up again.

"What's the purpose of all this?" A single bundle, one swift cut, a seemingly unstoppable maneuver.

"The energy you've absorbed will be depleted sooner or later. Once you've used it all up, I'll be able to tie you up."

With a faint smile, Alex gestured towards a sizable fish tank in the living room and inquired, "Sebastian, if I tie you up and place you in this fish tank, will you drown?"

"Uh..."

Sebastian paled, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Although still human, drowning in the fish tank would be a source of mockery for years to come.

"Frightened?"

Alex smiled, approached Riptide, and plucked a strand of hair. Grinning at Sebastian, he remarked, "Actually, I have a simpler method. Ending you doesn't require much effort."

[Test the gene.]

[Testing, successful testing, successful collection.]

[Should the gene be strengthened?]

"Yes," Alex replied casually.

[The strengthening is successful. Pricced with integration?]

"Integrate."

Alex nodded. Suddenly, a sharp pain surged through his body, beads of sweat breaking out all over. However, it subsided quickly.

Extending a finger, Alex wiggled it, a gentle breeze lingering at his fingertips.

"My Ability is unique. I can replicate the abilities of other mutants. This is the Ability of Riptide!"

A wisp of breeze hovered at Alex's fingertips. Smirking at Sebastian, he said, "The Riptide is an idiot. He only knows how to attack with storms. But he doesn't know that controlling the airflow can suffocate people!"

With a swing of his finger, Alex emptied the air around Sebastian in an instant.

Sebastian clutched his throat, desperately trying to escape the airless area. However, no matter where he ran, Alex evacuated the surrounding air.

"Compared to a fish tank, this Ability seems more convenient, doesn't it?"

Alex looked at Sebastian with a cat-like smile, relishing the role of a cat playing with a mouse.

"You win!"

Sebastian conceded, utterly defeated in front of Alex. Once arrogant and invincible, Sebastian now faced a harsh reality.

"Well, get the fuck out of my sight!"

Releasing the control over the airflow, Alex waved to Sebastian.

Panting heavily, Sebastian eyed Alex suspiciously and asked, "Alex, what are you planning?"

In Sebastian's perspective, Alex should seize the opportunity and eliminate him directly. Why did he let him go again?

"I said your life is meant to be a whetstone for these little guys. Before I change my mind, wouldn't you better be on your way?!" Alex said coldly.

"Alright!" Sebastian nodded, rallying Riptide and the Red Devil. The Red Devil teleported, vanishing from sight.

"Hey, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to wake up!"

Lifting the fish tank, Alex poured cold water from it on everyone.

"What..."

The mutants, stunned by the Red Devil's surprise attack, gradually regained consciousness.

"Wow, what a flawless battle. You got your wish... the entire army is defeated! It's impressive!"

Alex discarded the fish tank, smiled sarcastically, and surveyed the group of mutants.

"Alex…"

Raven, Emma, and others bowed their heads in shame.

"With your abilities, even if you can't defeat Sebastian, driving him away should be a piece of cake."

Alex glanced at the crowd, shook his head, and said, "Sebastian has an 'Energy Absorption' ability, rendering your attacks ineffective. I know how to fight, but I need to see more strategic thinking!"

"Raven, as the Red Devil, you could have teleported Sebastian to the bottom of the sea for a quick solution!"

"Emma, your mental abilities could have perfectly controlled Sebastian, but you were knocked out by the Red Devil. You all disappointed me."

"The battle that can be easily won turned into a total wipeout. Combat experience and awareness are sorely lacking. Therefore, you still need to undergo rigorous training."

"Yes!"

Everyone nodded, acknowledging their shortcomings.

.....

The following day, Charles and his companions returned to the base.

"Oh my God, did you demolish all the houses?"

The entire base lay in ruins, a stark reminder of the destructive forces that had swept through. Military police groups bustled about, working to clean up the aftermath.

Charles and his companions stood in disbelief at the scene before them.

"Sebastian is responsible for this," Alex declared, taking a step forward, sighing, and shaking his head.

"Sebastian..." Eric's anger was palpable, his fist clenched with a hint of hatred in his eyes. "That bastard!"

"Will the CIA provide us with a new location?" Alex turned to Grete, gesturing towards the wreckage. "I believe we need a new base."

"Sorry. I only borrowed this place. The CIA... I prefer not to collaborate with Mutants," Grete replied with a helpless shake of her head.

"So, are we going to be homeless now?" Eric scowled.

"No! We have another base," Charles chimed in, pointing to himself with a smile. "My house! I'm sure you'll be pleased with it."

.....

On the outskirts of New York stood Xavier Manor—a massive castle amidst green mountains and waters, leaving everyone in awe.

"Wow! Charles, this is a castle! Your house is enormous! An empty house, and you live here?" The group marveled at the grandeur.

"Okay, it's not a big deal. If you've been to London, you know Alex's manor is even more stunning than mine. Oh, and not just London, Alex has a manor in New York too."

Charles smiled and led the group into the castle.

"You're all wealthy individuals," Grete remarked, impressed.

"According to Alex, you faced Sebastian, and was wiped out," Charles said, shaking his head. "Now, get ready for special training!"

Under Grete's guidance, the group underwent not only ability training but also various agent skills training simultaneously.

"Eric, the Earth has a massive magnetic field. Your power is beyond imagination. Feel the power of the Earth, Eric. You'll realize you can lift the entire Earth!"

"Charles, let go of your heart and accept the whole world!"

"Raven, you're the strongest. Constantly change and become all of us. Familiarize yourself with the power of each. Your task is the heaviest."

"Emma, you have spiritual power, and so do you."

"Jessica, your ability is more than that. Create more and stronger energy balls. Practice more."

The intensive training had officially begun.
