The story of Filch's attack soon spread through Hogwarts. Almost everyone knew that the cantankerous caretaker was lying unconscious in the hospital wing, with only his cat for company. However, this incident quickly lost attention as excitement for the upcoming Quidditch match grew.
Luke didn't participate in this year's Quidditch match, but the Slytherin team had a luxurious advantage. Malfoy's father, Lucius, had bought the entire team the latest Nimbus 2001 broomsticks.
Around eleven o'clock, all the teachers and students headed to the Quidditch pitch. Luke and Hermione sat in a high platform in the Gryffindor stands, specially prepared for them by Lee Jordan. There weren't many people around, which made Luke appreciate Lee Jordan even more.
The weather was good, but there was a faint sound of thunder in the clouds, suggesting a thunderstorm might be on its way.
"I forgot to bring an umbrella!" Hermione suddenly remembered, hugging Luke's arm and patting her forehead regretfully.
"No need for an umbrella, just cast a barrier spell," Luke said with a laugh, waving his wand.
Today's first game was Slytherin versus Gryffindor. The two teams had clashed recently, so the rivalry was intense.
Wood and the Gryffindor team wore red armor and robes, looking very spirited as they prepared for the game. Harry and the others were equally enthusiastic.
As Madam Hooch blew the whistle, the game officially began. Harry was the first to take to the sky, with Malfoy close behind on his new broom. The latest Nimbus 2001 was very noticeable on the field.
It didn't take long for Malfoy to catch up with Harry.
"Ah, it's raining!" Luke touched the raindrops on his face and used his wand to create a protective layer around them.
"That's better," Hermione said, smiling as she nestled closer to him, both of them now shielded from the rain.
The clouds covered the sun, and occasional flashes of lightning lit up the sky. Small droplets of rain gradually formed layers of rain curtains under the sound of thunder.
Luke looked up at the golden thunderbolts in the sky, feeling a burst of coolness. As a thunder dragon, he liked this kind of weather very much; the lightning in the sky seemed almost delicious.
The gap in the game was huge. Fred and the others couldn't touch the Quaffle fired by the other team, and the score was now 90 to 10. If Harry didn't manage to catch the Snitch, they would undoubtedly lose the game.
The crowd on the Slytherin side was roaring, as if celebrating their victory in advance.
"Come on, Harry! Show those unscrupulous snakes that one Lucius isn't enough to stop you as a Seeker!" Lee Jordan's passionate voice echoed through the rain.
The students of Slytherin glared at the Gryffindor commentator, looking like they wanted to drag him down and beat him.
"Lee Jordan, watch your words!" Professor McGonagall, a fervent Quidditch fan, glared at the commentator who was already babbling. Even Snape looked at Lee Jordan with disdain.
"His ability to attract hatred is impressive!" Luke couldn't help laughing. Even Hermione was amused. The two of them didn't care at all who would win the game in the end.
Thunder roared, and the sky gradually dimmed.
"It hurts!" Luke pulled his fingers out of Hermione's mouth under her fierce gaze. She had bitten him, and he deserved it.
"Harry, watch out!" Ginny's voice from the Gryffindor seats attracted their attention.
Luke turned his head in confusion and saw a Bludger slam into Harry's elbow. Harry felt a searing pain as his arm broke. Under Malfoy's sarcastic gaze, the wounded Harry gritted his teeth and flew straight at him. The sarcasm on Malfoy's face turned to horror as Harry approached.
"What are you going to do—"
Malfoy hurriedly maneuvered his broom to avoid a collision, but at that moment, the Golden Snitch flew right over his head.
Harry, coming from the opposite direction, snatched the Snitch, and with a loud splash, fell headfirst into the muddy ground.
Gryffindor erupted in loud cheers.
"We are the champions!" Lee Jordan shouted enthusiastically.
"No, aren't they going to see Harry?" Luke pointed out, indicating Harry, who had landed face-first in the dirt. "His arm looks limp."
"Oh, it's just a minor injury, believe me!" Lockhart said confidently, pointing his wand at Harry's fractured arm. "I've treated fractures many times before."
With an unknown spell incantation, Harry's once firm arm turned soft as rubber, causing his eyes to widen in shock.
"... A mistake, hehe, a mistake!" Lockhart stammered, feeling the critical gazes around him. He then sheepishly rubbed his head and hurried away.
"I knew Lockhart was unreliable," Luke said, shaking his head helplessly.
Eventually, Luke used the Levitation Charm to send Harry to the school infirmary.
"That new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is an idiot! How can he just make someone's bones disappear with magic?!" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed angrily.
In the two years Luke had been at Hogwarts, this was the first time he'd seen Madam Pomfrey this furious. Lockhart's mistake had clearly crossed a line.
Under Madam Pomfrey's care, Harry had to stay in the hospital wing for several days, enduring the unpleasant task of drinking Skele-Gro to regrow his bones.
Looking at Harry's grimace, Luke sympathetically took out a few bottles of modified Skele-Gro from his System space.
"This Skele-Gro tastes like chocolate and is just as effective," Luke said, handing a bottle to Harry.
Harry took a sip, and his eyes lit up as the taste of chocolate filled his mouth. "You're a potions genius, Luke!"
Madam Pomfrey eyed the bottle of Skele-Gro curiously. "Did you brew this yourself?"
"Yes, ma'am," Luke confirmed, stepping closer.
"Well, we'll see about the efficacy soon enough, but it can be tested with Mr. Potter," she conceded, still looking a bit skeptical but willing to give it a try.
