Chapter 9 - The darkness

Morgan entered the vast and green courtyard area of the palace, butterflies flying around the palace grounds. The white pillars towered high, showing the entrance to the palace, she walked hesitantly towards the entrance while swallowing her saliva.

"Will I be accepted?" she said fearfully, "Take it easy Minnie! I mean Morgan! I'm sure they'll accept you," Yuuna said, encouraging her friend. Morgan took a deep breath and stood in front of the palace door for seven minutes, she decided to knock on the door and wait for a reply from inside.

"What am I doing...is it right?" she thought hesitantly, after waiting for a few minutes an old-looking maid opened the door and looked at me gently. "What's the need?" she said softly.

Morgan looked at the Maid and gave a friendly smile, "I...would like to apply to work in this palace as a maid...is it still possible to accept this application ma'am...?" Morgan said softly. The maid came out of the palace and closed the door quietly, "Of course! We are currently short of labor, come with me," she said as she walked to the backyard of the palace.

Morgan followed behind, they passed through the long palace hallway, the left side of the hallway was decorated by a flower garden with dragonflies flying, Morgan's bead sparkled because she really liked beautiful things around the kingdom.

Arriving at the end of the hallway, her emerald eyes caught a small building with small pillars that had unique carvings on each pillar that decorated the building, in front of the building there was a lake with two white swans swimming leisurely.

There was a beautiful and charming woman with long brown hair, a dress with a small orange skirt, and decorated with sparkling beads surrounding her dress. "What is it princess?" Morgan said curiously. The maid who walked in front of him nodded and approached the princess tan while whispering softly.

Morgan just stared from a distance while hiding her arms behind her back, the princess looked at the woman standing in the distance with a very sweet smile, it made Morgan blush slightly and took her eyes off the princess.

"You, come here, the princess is calling you" said the maid standing next to the princess. Morgan approached the two of them and bowed respectfully to the princess, "It is an honor to meet you, princess..." the princess stroked my head gently, "Straighten up, beautiful woman" Morgan then stood up straight and faced the princess.

"So you came here to work, huh? Who do you want to support, pretty lady?" said the princess in a very melodious voice, "I want to help my friend who lives in a remote village, that village has a lack of supplies and even a lack of food...I'm here for that," said Morgan firmly.

The princess nodded in understanding and invited Morgan to sit on a bench with a table in the center, there were many snacks and of course two cups of green tea that were still warm. Morgan sat on the bench opposite the princess, feeling quite awkward at that moment.

"So you want to work as my maid, is that right?" The blonde woman nodded and looked down slightly, "Well I accept you as my maid" The princess thought for a moment and continued her words "Maybe a personal maid? You will go with me wherever I go, do you agree with that?" Morgan was a little surprised by the princess's statement.

"Uh...are you sure you want to give me that position?" she said awkwardly, the princess nodded and placed her cup on the table, "I'm quite touched by your intentions anyway, you also seem like a reliable woman, and we can become good friends~" The maid standing beside the princess also gave a surprised expression.

"Well, may I know your name?" said the princess, "Sure...sorry I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Morgan Wolfhard" said the blonde woman firmly. "Morgan yes, my name is Elizabeth Antoinette" said the princess as she smiled sweetly.

"Then Miss Elizabeth, when can I start working?" the princess took the woman's hand and pulled her to her feet and followed her, "Starting today, now let's go to my room!" Elizabeth led Morgan into the palace and took her away, the old servant who saw their behavior just sighed, "The princess hasn't changed..."

Once in Elizabeth's private room, she opened her wardrobe and picked out clothes with great excitement, "...Princess?" Elizabeth picked out a more classy maid's dress and showed it to Morgan with a big smile on her face, "HOW MORGAN?! THIS DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL!" Morgan just chuckled awkwardly and sighed tiredly.

"Come on, wear this dress! Or do you want something more colorful, classy, or short-sleeved?" Elizabeth looked excited to pick out a dress for Morgan, "Whatever you want..." Said morgan tiredly. "Ohh morgan I think the black one suits you, your shining blonde hair and your radiant face!" Morgan wondered if that woman was really a princess, her nature was so opposite.

On the other hand, Fate was walking to the mansion where the sword knights gathered, he asked permission from the knight on duty to be given permission to meet their colonel. After being given permission and discussing for several hours, Fate was accepted and will start serving tomorrow.

The man was given a gray uniform with long black pants and boots, he also got a sword that was so slender and sharp and looked very sturdy. After being given equipment he was accompanied by a knight to his room in the mansion where the palace knights lived.

He entered his room and immediately changed his clothes with the uniform that had been given, after changing clothes the man intended to find dinner outside.

"Huh...I didn't expect it to be this smooth, what about that woman huh? I hope she's also lucky there" he said quietly, he walked around the city, choosing a shop that he thought sold the most delicious food.

His bead accidentally caught a tall figure wearing a shabby robe, he raised one eyebrow feeling suspicious. Fate tried to talk to the person, "Hey there, you seem to be unemployed," said Fate in a fales tone.

The cloaked figure glanced at his while crossing his arms then walked towards a small alley, Fate felt strange then followed him into a small alley. "Wa-wait a minute, you're not the one who will make a scene, are you? Just undo your intentions and get out of here...!" Fate looked at the cloaked figure with hesitation.

"Are you the palace apprentice? The voice from behind the cloak was heavy, sounding like a haughty man. Fate raised one eyebrow, "Huh?...yes, that's it". The cloaked man did not spare a glance, "I advise you to be careful with the Queen of the palace."

Fate was even more confused and grabbed the shabby robed man's shoulder roughly, "What are you talking about?" "I can't see his face...he's wearing a strange mask" Fate thought irritably.

The man in the robe disappeared from Fate's sight in the blink of an eye, Fate still did not understand what the man had said earlier, he was silent for a moment and leaned against the wall. After a few minutes immersed in his own thoughts, the man decided to walk to the nearest shop to buy food.

While putting both hands in his pants pockets, he walked with his face back to the mansion while carrying several packs of bread in his hands. his sour face was still clearly visible, he looked at the palace before entering the mansion.

The days continued to pass in the unknown world, there were no problems in the royal capital and everything was going on peacefully, the people looked hard at work and many newcomers entered the Royal capital.
