But... why does it feel so real?
A second of time never waited for Minnie to relax as the sun began to rise from its bow, the girl without taking any more time rushed back down to the bridge; the place where she would usually see her best friend waiting and giving her a warm smile that would spread from her lips. But her hopes were dashed when Minnie's eyes were forced to stare at the puffs of smoke that infiltrated the debris of the village sky.
The roar of the sky seemed to show the fury of the fire burning above her, leading the girl to be forced to be conquered by her fear which was no less rousing than the screams that were released just to call out the name of her best friend. "Yuuna...? YUUNA! NO, NO, NO!" Every step Minnie took felt so heavy, as if her imagination was melted by worry for her beloved figure. "Yuuna... Yuuna... please, hang in there."
Misery belied every word that came out, only disbelief filled Minnie's mind as she imagined what she would face when entering the rural compound that had been burned by tragedy. Minnie's feet carried her into the village, the girl already not surprised at the thought of the devastation of a famine engulfed in red rage all she could think of was the hope of not finding her best friend amongst the unworthy bodies. But no, not when her nerves had to stare at a body that was familiar to her posture, certainly a girl, with a body that had already followed death.
Hysterical screams echoed throughout the sky Minnie was stunned to see Yuuna's body already lying lifeless, traces of stabbing adorning her headless body. As if swallowed by grief, Minnie fell to her knees as cold crystal droplets fell from her blind temples, and fell between the bodies of her friends who were no longer by her side. Emotion ignited the girl in the midst of her sad story, rage pierced her soul her mind was only covered with a series of desires to avenge every tragedy that befell her beloved figure.
"Why...? Shouldn't they feel this way? Yuuna wasn't supposed to be like this." Minnie knew best how much she herself needed time to recover from her mind being smashed to pieces by the realization of the universe. All the grief that her little heart bore burned her common sense The girl hugged her knees tightly, the incessant crying faintly heard just to tickle her own sense of hearing, her net unable to even steal a glance at the body beside her. As if mourning Yuuna's death, the water droplets that covered the sky fell between the girl's face, merging with the clear crystals that filled her temples. "Do you hear me, Gods? Where were you when they needed you?"
There was no answer. Perhaps, since Gods never listened to anyone's requests like they had lost their minds, a small laugh escaped the corner of Minnie's sweet lips. She steeled her heart, "Well... if the Gods can't protect you, I should..." Minnie rose from her seat, adjusting her balance between staggering bodies. "Blood Manipulation... that skill was captured, don't you want it, girl?" Instantly, the ground shook between Minnie's body as the unfamiliar voice continuously assaulted her senses. "Heh, what's the point of all this?" Minnie snorted, for some time gravity made no sense to her.
Her steps brought the girl to stand right next to her best friend's body, her eyes staring at the body even though every second of it was torture for Minnie. Her gentle hand pulled out the spear that was the source of her best friend's misery "Sorry, Yuuna. That must have hurt..." Affectionately, Minnie carried the body in her hands as if the empty body was still her best friend that she knew. With every second that passed, Minnie laid her best friend's body next to a large tree trunk that shielded Yuuna's body from the sun that was beginning to set firmly.
The chiming of time was still running as an accompaniment to the girl who was trying to collect one by one the body parts of the residents who were scattered in every corner of the village. One thing that made her sick, she could find every missing part of the villagers but, no matter how hard Minnie searched, the girl did not manage to find the head of her best friend's body. The girl was pensive, hugging the glimpse of Yuuna's body that traced a deep red stain on her own clothes. "I'm sorry... Yuuna, you've all fought good night."
After the parting words were said. Minnie didn't take much time to get away from the girl's sad sphere as she strolled through the streets of the city far from the village, her tattered clothes that gave off the scent of corpses became a decoration that drew the attention of all the people's eyes, they considered the girl a filthy and disgusting creature without knowing the reason behind her blank stare that held deep anger.
"Miss, is that you...?" Facing a building gate, a woman dressed in maid's clothes caught up with the girl with a worried gaze, slowly, the maid caressed Minnie's face; worried that her rough touch would make the vulnerable girl uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the maid's concern was met with a wry response from Minnie as the hand caressing her face was roughly brushed off by the girl. "There was a fire in the countryside... didn't you notice? What... no one noticed?" Minnie's intonation rising, she ground her teeth. "Damn it... a lot of people died there! Just a little bit... don't you realize it...?"
Not wanting to linger and let the anger consume her, Minnie left the maid alone with a look of emotion that even she couldn't explain. Steps led Minnie to the stairs, climbing them one by one until she reached the second floor of the building. Minnie entered one of the rooms, the harmonious shades and ornaments suggesting it was hers alone. The sound of the water tap was accompanied by a desperate cry from the corner of the girl's lips, stain after stain was removed from her body; and one of them belonged to Minnie's best friend.
Time quickly passed and Minnie was yet to rise from her current position, drenched by the rushing water that cleansed her body. Time slowed down for her only because she was haunted by the sadness of the tragedy that had befallen her loved ones.
