Chapter 15 - Unconscious?

"Nothing is impossible. There are a lot of things which are beyond your understanding, James," Eitri said with a sad tone.

'What the hell is wrong with these people. First Odin and now Eitri. If you don't even tell me then how the hell would I even understand,' James thought.

Eitri continued," Also if we were able to use such powerful weapons created by us, don't you think we would have already become the strongest people in the world."

"Humph, that is true," James begrudgingly agreed with Eitri's statement.

"Well now drop your blood on the blade of the sword," Eitri said and provided a knife to James.

'Blood? It really feels like I am in a cultivation novel or something,' Jame scrunched his eyebrows.

He nodded his head and used the knife to draw a small cut on his arm. A few drops of blood fell on the sword.

As the drops of blood fell on the sword, they disappeared as if they were being absorbed by the sword.

Suddenly James's mind blanked out and he fell backwards with the sword still in his hands. He looked like he had fallen into some kind of trance.

"James," Thor shouted. "Eitri, what happened to him?" Thor asked worriedly.

Eitri bent down and checked James's breath," He is breathing, but is in an unconscious state. This is the first time I have ever seen something like this. No one before had fainted after dropping a few drops of blood on his weapon."

"Lets take him somewhere else first and you notify Odin and ask him to come here to take a look at this boy's condition," Eitri ordered and picked James up with the sword still in James's hand, which Eitri was unable to separate from him.

"Alright," Thor readily agreed.

While Thor went to notify Odin and Eitri went towards his dwelling, James was currently standing in a vast infinite white space with his eyes closed.

Finally James regained his consciousness.

"Where the hell am I?," He said with a surprised tone.

He looked around trying to figure out where he was and also tried to find an exit, but his efforts were in vain. He had no idea how much time had passed. Sometimes it felt like just a few minutes had passed while sometimes it felt like, he had been wondering in this dreadful white space for months.

Suddenly in the infinite white space, at a distance, James saw a gold light flickering. James launched himself towards the attractive golden light without any hesitation, as he was tired of roaming without any direction.

As he drew closer, the golden light started engulfing the white space at a rapid pace. James had no idea what was going on, so he focused on reaching his destination. Finally as he reached there, the previously flickering golden glow had painted the whole white space into a golden colour. Now it has been converted into an infinite golden space.

As James observed, he found that there was his greyish black sword surrounded by the golden flame. This was the golden glow he had seen from far away. It was actually a golden flame.

James walked towards the golden flame and as he tried to grasp the hilt of the sword, the golden flame surrounding the sword started to burn his hand.

"Fuuuuu****k," James screamed and instantly pulled back his hand. He had never felt such a pain even when he was transmigrated in this world and had gotten hit by the mini truck and nearly died. He looked at his hand, but there was no injury caused by the burn. Instead he saw that his hand had become a little pale and felt like it had faded a bit.

"Is this some kind of test to obtain the sword," James frowned, not at all happy that things had turned out like this.

"Seems like even in this life I would never gain things easily. I would have to struggle for everything," James sighed.

James wanted to use his abilities to get the sword, but he felt that using his abilities to get the sword out of the golden flame would be wrong. He didn't know why but he instinctively felt that he must obtain the sword without using any of the abilities.

James closed his eyes and concentrated for a few seconds. He finally opened his eyes which were filled with impeccable determination of getting the sword out of the golden flame.

Without any further ado, he tried to grab the hilt of the sword again, ignoring the pain caused by the flame. However the unbearable pain still made him scream, but he persisted and did not withdraw his hand.

James grasped the hilt of the sword while panting. As he held the sword, the golden flame dwindled and the golden space was converted back into a white space. The golden colour had completely disappeared.

James was so tired that he held the sword and sat down. His right hand had almost disappeared. However using his regenerative ability, his hand was back to how it was before.

"Hope you are worth all the trouble," James said while looking at his sword. Observing the sword, James could feel that the sword was alive and was trying to communicate with him, not with words but with feelings.

James could feel that the sword was incredibly happy to be held by him. James let go of the sword and the sword flew in the air and started going in circles around him.

James smiled at the kid like antics of the sword. After a few rounds the sword again flew back to James's hand.

As he held the sword again, a series of information was inserted into his brain. James laughed in excitement after sorting out and understanding the information. The information which was transferred to his brain was about the abilities of the sword.

James hurriedly opened his Information Panel.
