When Amelia got home after working in the orphanage, she prepared herself for whatever was coming for her.
Finally heard the doorbell. The moment she opened the door. A slap came across her face. It was Aunt Lucy and Amber was behind her. Her face was bandaged making it look like she had been in an accident.
"You witch, I thought I warned you. You dare to hit my baby." Amber quickly stopped her mum before she gave Amelia another slap. She didn't want Axel to see she had another bruise on her face.
"Mum, I don't want you to hit her face anymore. Instead I want you to wipe her body until she bleed and is left with scars."
Aunt Lucy nodded and brought out her wipe. True to her words, I was wiped until I bled and the marks that will end up becoming scars. I already had lots of scars on my body, that was why I always wore long sleeves. Even during hot weathers. Now more scars were added to my body.
That night, I was punished severely and went to bed without any food.
Days passed by and I have been avoiding Ares, Blake and Max since then. Axel did not even bother to look at me. He acted like he never knew me and I also did the same.
Caroline transferred to my class and I would tutor her during my free time. Her grades went up gradually and we became really close to each other. Caroline always protected me from bullies.
Our friendship grew strong to extent that I almost ended up telling her about my appearance and my life but I recall my past with Luna and stopped myself.
The boys that were rushed to the hospital were discharged and surprisingly came to apologize to me. At first I thought they were also forced to beg me but I later realized that they were sincere. "We know that you might not forgive us but we want to apologize for what we have have done. Even though we did those horrible things to you. You still helped us. We are really ashamed of ourselves. Please can you find it in your heart to forgive us." One of the boys said.
I could see the sincerity in thier eyes. "I am glad you have realized your mistakes. I will forgive you but I don't want you to ever do that to any other girl. It is not right at all." I said.
They all nodded. "If you don't mind we would like to call you sister. You saved our lives and for that, if you ever need help, please don't hesitate to ask us. You can even be our master from now on and order us anytime."
I was numb. Even though I considered Emily my sister for many years, she had never called me sister once. Now I suddenly have four brothers.
"Pls don't, sister is fine. It is okay if you called me sister. I never thought a day would come where I would have four brothers. I am really happy. Thank you."
I was sincerely happy. Apart from my aunt's house. I was happy.
"No need to thank us sister. Please feel free to ask us if you need anything. We won't hesitate to help you." After saying that they left.
It was Saturday and Amelia hurried to the dance studio. Caroline was always there too after they became friends. She would come with Catherine to the studio to meet Amelia.
When Amelia walked inside the studio. She was surprised with what she saw.
There was a big sign that said SORRY. Amelia covered her mouth with her palm and gasped. The kids in the studio were each holding a balloon that says WE ARE REALLY SORRY. Then she saw a strawberry cake in front of them which had SORRY written on it.
Out of nowhere. Ares, Max and Blake came. "Amelia, I can't endure the silent treatment anymore. Pls can you forgive us." Blake apologized.
Amelia looked like she would cry at any moment. "I am really sorry. You guys did all that for me and I made you feel guilty. I am sorry. I am not angry with you guys. I just thought that if you distanced yourself from me then you guys won't do what you did just because of me again. I really feel guilty because I made you do all of those things. You guys could have gotten into trouble and you could have been caught up in my mess. I am really sorry for everything."
I broke down and tears came pouring down my cheeks. "Amelia pls don't cry, non of this is your fault. We didn't ask for your opinion before doing what we did. We are sorry for that. Just don't distance yourself from us anymore." Ares said while comforting her.
Max also joined in comforting her. Just then Caroline interrupted. "Uhm, sorry to disturb you but don't you have a to teach this children. Catherine is already jealous that you are giving them attention instead of her." Saying that, everyone bursted into laughter.
Months passed and Amelia was now in her final year. She and Caroline was studying a four years course while the boys. The children in the dance studio reached the finals in the competition. Amelia's life outside the house was really great.
Axel continued to ignore her. Although she was bothered, she shrugged it off and thought it was for the best.
Ares, Blake, Max and Caroline often hang out with Amelia and would sometimes take either children from the dance studio or orphanage along with them.
One day, during lunch. Everyone left the class except Amelia and Caroline. While Amelia was tutoring Caroline. Caroline noticed Amelia was inching her body.
It was a sunny day and Amelia was still wearing long sleeves. "Amelia, doesn't it make you uncomfortable. At least roll up your sleeves and unbutton some of the buttons on your shirt."
"Carol, don't worry. Let's continue." Caroline did not like how Amelia was feeling uncomfortable and forcefully raised her sleeves up.
When Caroline saw her scars she gasped. Amelia quickly pulled her sleeves back. "Amelia how did you get those Scars."
Amelia shook her head. "It's nothing please don't worry about it."
Caroline was suddenly annoyed. "Amelia, I thought we were friends. Now you are hiding this from me. I won't listen to you until you tell me how you got this scars."
Amelia sighed. "Ok I will tell you but you have to promise not to do anything stupid or even tell the boys."
Caroline nodded. I ended up telling her about my story. How my dad died and how my life was turned upside down since that day. I told her about Luna and I told her how I later found out that I was an abandoned child. I even told her about how I ended up with Aunt Lucy and how they treat me there. I told her everything except for my real appearance and my disease. I never want to make the same mistake ever again.
After recall this memories, tears came gushing from my eyes. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. Caroline hugged me.
"Amelia, I am so sorry. I didn't know you were suffering so much. I promise you, I will always be with you. I will never betray you and I will always trust you no matter what. I know you might not trust all my words but with time I am sure you will believe me."
Amelia smiled. "Pls carol, make sure you don't go back on your words. I don't think I can endure it if what happened with Luna also happened with you. I am serious. Please."
"I promise you, I won't go back on my words." Caroline suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, I almost forgot." She brought out a box from her bag and handed it to me. I looked at it curiously.
"What is this?" I asked. "This is a phone. I really don't like how we only have little time to talk. You can use it to talk to me in the night. Don't bother to refuse it because I won't take no for an answer."
I chuckled. "You are really stubborn. Thanks anyway but this is the last time. Okay?" Caroline rolled her eyes.
"Aghh, fine." just then Scarlett came. Scarlett started clinging to me more than before ever since Caroline and I became friends. She considered herself a friend of Caroline just because she is my friend. I begged Caroline to ignore her, that is the only reason why her bones are still intact.
When she came, I quickly hid the phone Caroline gave me. I didn't want her to tell aunt. "Hi guys, I see Amelia is tutoring you again. You are so lucky Caroline. Amelia refused when I begged her to tutor me."
Caroline just rolled her eyes and tried to control herself. She really wanted to fling this annoying fly out of here. Fortunately, the bell rang and it was time for the next class.
"Oh bummer, it is time for another boring class again? I am gonna skip this one. I will catch up with you later, byeeeee."
Scarlett quickly left the class before the lecturer came in. I sighed and focused on the class.
