' Damn it, the tablet didn't inform me of such a thing. Was there some sort of mistake that occurred in the mechanisms of the test or maybe even the gate itself?' Dean thought as beads of sweat-drenched his forehead and face to the point where even his eyes had a hard time seeing through all the watery matter it got soaked in.
The young man several meters in front of Dean tilted his head in confusion when he saw the reaction his fellow partner had the moment he heard his voice.
With uncertainty, the young scratched his head and calmly spoke, a hint of doubt clearly displayed in his tone," You are my partner for this test no? Did I startle you by any chance when I hid my presence?"
After a few seconds of silence, the young man couldn't help but add when he saw that Dean still didn't answer his question," Do not take that by heart and be wary of me, that's just a bad habit I have to always hide my presence when I'm out adventuring in the wild, even my father kept telling me to stop doing that or everyone will never give you their time and befriend you hehe."
' Hm? Test partner? Why didn't that tablet inform me of such a thing.' Dean was greatly dazed and suspicious of the young man as he pondered the words he just heard through,' Doesn't this also mean he is someone armed with a sacred relic of the primordial era! Is it also a book like the one I got or something else?'
Even though he was quite perplexed about this new development, Dean quickly calmed himself down and replied while simultaneously taking his guard off and fixing his posture to match the young man.
" Your father is right, such actions will lead me to think that you have ill intentions towards me." Dean answered as he got slightly closer to the young man while speaking," Still, the tablet never mentioned a partner in this test, so how did you know that I'd be here?"
Dean wasn't ignorant, and even though new to this world he still held a lot of intelligence and a big brain on top of his head.
While it is true that this young man must be dangerous, he still won't act recklessly in front of a random person and just casually speak out of the blue.
Dean was confident that this young man knew of the partner he had inside the test, which also means that he had way more information than what he currently possessed given the fact that no diver like Blank and the others could share such knowledge with him.
This alone left Dean in deep thought and wariness.
Regardless of the young man's identity, Dean still vividly remembers the words of Kerin and the others.
He was told that all information is bound by a contract and is not allowed to be shared with any, or else they will face severe consequences. Yet, even though such a contract existed in the chaos world and beyond the gates, this young man already knew about the contents of the test and even a partner he would have inside.
To be more precise, the young man standing in front of Dean right now was someone who already had all the information handed to him beforehand.
Meaning that either he wasn't a New Diver who would take the test like him or someone whose parents had way more influence and power than Blank and the rest of the group.
The young man looked at Dean like he was looking at a little child, but when he took his time and recalled words his father spoke once back in the day, realization dawned upon him as he finally understood the situation going on here.
" Oh that, its because my family has great authority in one of the guilds inside the chaos world and even our main world. You probably didn't receive information mainly because the family or organization behind you were bound by the guild's and gates contracts which is understandable."
The young man even though just met Dean, didn't even bother to withhold any information from him, it was as such information was scattered like cabbages in the market, free for everyone to take a look at.
' Have I met some kind of heir to a strong family by chance? Well, let's just hope trouble doesn't follow like I have read in those fantasy novels.' Dean wrapped his mind over the young man's words and soon accepted the situation.
Even though he didn't learn anything about him, Dean could more or less know what was going on with the young man here.
' Regardless of whatever identity or title he holds, this all doesn't matter in the current situation.' He then heavily shifted his eyes to face the stone statues before he focused on the young man and took a closer look at him after wiping the sweat off his face and eyes.
The young man had perfectly groomed purple hair pulled back to reveal a chiseled, radiant face. Shining red eyes, set well within their sockets as they deeply looked at Dean with great interest.
His face was white and tender while his body was small but quite masculine, even though he wore a black robe with wide sleeves that perfectly hid every inch of his body, Dean could tell that he was masculine based on the thickness of his neck.
While Dean spent his time securitizing the young man, the latter didn't seem to mind it as he just stood there looking around him in expectation.
The awkward silence took place for several minutes before Dean finally broke it.
"You said that you consider this lucky when you first spoke up?" Dean couldn't help but look at the young man dubiously as he pointed at the six 100-meter-tall Stone Statues in the distance that looked way stronger than the other small ones. " Those are probably Stone Statues that rank higher than all the others. Just one of them will be enough to keep me here forever if not kill me in the spot."
"We are indeed lucky. Had we started from the Cursed Area, we would have had to give up before we could even start the test," The young man said, chuckling.
