Chapter 4 - Drunken Father

He resisted the urge to give him a few kicks on the ground as he raised his head to meet the eyes of the now horrified group of delinquents.

Before he could even make a move they all took off, leaving their 2 fallen friends.

'What a waste.' Ace thought to himself as he eyed the message which had changed once more.

Seeing how simple it was to improve the template, he was hoping for the idiots to continue the fight.

But he didn't think more on it as he put his hands in his pockets and continued on his way exiting the park, too deep in thought to feel the 2 pairs of eyes of admiration following his figure.

"You bitch! Is it because of your status?! Do you think I'm scum?! How could you just leave me?!"

"Ah?"

Upon opening the door to his apartment, Ace was greeted with foul breath and yelling.

He first grew agitated as he already felt frustration from getting lost almost 4 times before finally finding his way home, so he almost lashed out at the owner of the voice before he froze upon meeting his eyes.

It took him a moment before a realization dawned on him, exactly why this body's previous owner resented staying home and instead opted for the park which was typically quiet alongside the main road just a few streets away which made for perfect levels of noise.

His abusive father.

He didn't specify much in terms of his desired background. At the time, the reader in him didn't want to be spoiled, which was quite the idiotic move to do now that he looked back on it, so he had no clue who he truly was.

Perhaps 'a hidden powerful identity' being his only overriding statement in the questionairre.

It seemed such an identity had yet to be discovered according to his memory.

His father was a nobody who married the most perfect woman he had seen in all his life, Ace's mother who unfortunately died just after his birth.

What was truly unfortunate for the scumbag was he later impregnated and remarried another woman just a year later who met the same fate as his first wife, leaving Ace with a younger stepbrother who was abused just as badly as he was, if not worse.

For whatever odd reason, after indulging in degeneracy for many years after the death of his second wife, the man had somehow deluded himself into believing not only that both the women had left him, but had in fact faked their deaths just to be rid of him and their children, and due to their strong resemblance of their mothers, his resentment was taken out on them.

Upon collecting his thoughts, Ace raised his eyebrows in astonishment, he placed his hand on his heart as he could feel it slightly racing when he met eyes with his father.

Though his mind felt nothing but disdain, his body instead felt fear.

Even his fingers shivered here and there.

He thought it a bit bothersome, but he thought the feeling which he experienced for the first time was a bit intriguing as he focused more on his body to feel anything else.

But it seemed the deluded man had taken his silence as something else as his raised voice and his slurred words could be heard once more.

"Am I not even worth speaking to?! After everything I've done for you! You treat me this way when I've sacrificed so much?!"

His voice trailed off slightly at the end which caught Ace's attention as he raised his head, only to see a raised hand coming his way.

It took him no effort at all to dodge, he barely noticed his ability even activate.

Upon noticing his father approaching him seemingly for another attempt, Ace quickly backed out into the hallways as the apartment entrance was far too thin to allow him to continuously dodge.

"Come here! Don't you see how much I miss you? I just want to hold you." The senile man's voice had softened considerably as he lunged towards Ace in attempt to grab him.

Momentarily Ace was stunned as that wasn't the next move he expected, so his mind began to run once more.

Ace was quite tall far his age standing at 5'6, however his father was considerably taller than him as he was 6'1.

So he didn't want to test out their difference in strength, so allowing the man to get a hold of him was out of the question.

It didn't take him any time to come up with the proper answer as he lowered himself, also lunging towards the man as they met perfectly, with Ace going lower and grabbing his legs to tackle him down.

Had it been captured, it would've been a spectacular photo as thanks to Ace's cheat ability, his timing couldn't have been any more perfect.

Ace, had grappled his father to the ground as he quickly did his best to force the man still and get atop him.

As they met eye to eye, Ace gave his old man a smirk as he raised his fist, and brought it down with love.

"Wake the fuck up!"

And again.

"Wake up!"

And once more,

"Wake up bastard!"

In fact he had lost count at 6, only when he felt it was enough did he stop.

But he was left quite disappointed as it seemed his strength was too little to make the man's face bleed despite his rain of ruthless punches.

But the feeling didn't last long as he could feel a sense of pride and relief start to well up in him.

He could identify with the pride as despite being a grown man himself, mentally at least, he felt quite the accomplishment at putting down a grown adult all by himself.

Even if he did have a little assistance, and the man was smacked drunk, and delusional, and at that moment didn't even seem to be trying to hurt him, and was caught off guard by his resistance which seemed to be uncharacteristic- the point was, he won.

But the feeling of relief? He had no clue, even at the beginning when he thought this man might even attempt to kill him today, he didn't feel the slightest bit of fear, he had trust in himself and his abilities. He could only chalk it up to this body feeling relieved at the retard's defeat.

Ace smiled, the progress had doubled. Leaving him happy once more seeing the quick rate at which it advanced, and it seemed it would continue to do so the more challenging his opponent was.

Though his take down had been much quicker in comparison, Ace felt the scuffle with his father was more demanding than the one with Cinco.

No move he made with Cinco would work on his father, the difference in their size forced Ace to put more consideration into his next move.

And thankfully the man wasn't even thinking that they were fighting otherwise he might not have been so open and easy to take down.

Just as Ace began to rise from atop his 3rd unconscious victim of today, not even an hour since his transmigration, he froze still once more.

Just a few feet from him, where the apartment entrance opened up into the living room, stood a young boy.

His appearance would force even some of the most cold hearted soldiers to take pity of him.

Unlike Ace who was allowed some years of happiness before experiencing hell, his younger brother was born in a nightmare.

It had taken great effects on him and his personality as the boy never even put up any resistance despite what his father put him through, he simply stood there and wept as he took countless beatings.

Even when Ace would resist their father or defend his younger brother, the boy would never move from his position, his trauma wouldn't let him stand up to this demon.

At this moment, Ace stood in place as he stared at his younger brother.

He stood there, hands behind his back with a torn blue shirt and black shorts, any visible skin from head to toe contained bruises, most old and some even new, indicating he was beaten just before Ace's arrival.

Even he who at certain times tended to lack compassion, felt this boy in front of him was all too pitiful, he couldn't help but want to actually be an older brother, as his previous self tried to be.

He forced his best reassuring smile as he stood tall and confident to seem more charismatic.

"Don't worry Erin, I won't let him hurt another hair on your body."

Only to be left stunned as the boy came running towards him. But this wasn't what concerned him, Erin's hands were revealed as a kitchen knife was made visible.

Before Ace could do anything the boy dropped to ground in front of him as he made clear his target wasn't his older brother.

But instead his father.

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

So Ace watched, he watched as his younger brother repeatedly stabbed his father's unconscious body which he still stood overtop of.

He listened as the boy screamed throughout his relentless attacks, the screams were incredibly high pitched, nothing like you'd expect to hear from someone facing their fears and extinguishing their demons.

They instead resembled the screams of a helpless child plunged into the life of endless hellish terrors, incapable of resistance and struggle.

So Ace watched, he watched in utter shock as tears dripped from Erin's bruised eyes and blood covered his face and spilled onto his own clothes as the boy repeatedly brought down his knife to once more stab his father, in the neck, chest, face, arms, anywhere it could find.
