Chapter 2 - Rooftop

Two weeks passed when suddenly Rodrigo approached me. "What are doing after class?" He asked. "Going home, of course." I sarcastically replied. He asked me if I could meet him at the rooftop after class. I agreed cause I don't want to go home early, as always.

I hate staying at our house. I can only hear screams there. I hate it. I also have Family issues, the reason why I prefer going to school to staying home, or should I say house. For me, I call our house a house. Not home. It doesn't feel like home.

When dismissal time came, I was about to step on the stairs on the way to the rooftop, when suddenly my brother called out my name, "Jiyanna! Dad's here to pick us up!" I panicked. "Oh, fuck it!" I whispered to myself. "Okay! I'll be there! J-just wait for me at the waiting area." I shouted back to Gavino, my brother.

I panicked on my way back to our classroom and asked a favor to my classmate, Dina. "Can you meet Rodrigo at the rooftop and tell him that, I got home already because my dad picked me up?" I said. Dina agreed and went ahead to the rooftop.

After I asked Dina a favor, I quickly went to see my Dad and Gavino.

"What took you so long?" Gavino asked with his one eyebrow raised. I did not reply to him and went straight to our car.

On the way to our house, the three of us are silent.

When we arrived, I went to my room and change.

I was about to put my things out of my backpack to start doing my homework when Mom yelled, "Jiyanna! Why is the sink full of dishes!? "I guess I'll do you later" I said to my homework.

7:00 pm. I just finished my homework. Mom called out for dinner, but I didn't go. I don't have an appetite to eat dinner now.

I lay on my bed and couldn't stop thinking, if what do Rodrigo need. Why does he want to see me on the rooftop? What for? Why? I felt my eyes heavy while overthinking everything until my eyes closed.

My life is boring. I have a phone but no social media. Boring. My Mom does not allow me to have social media because she said, social media is a bad influence.
