On her way to the river bank as directed by the captain Blitzer, doubts began to develop in Edna's mind that she contemplated on going back and realized she needed a plan to enable her get into Woodward in the first place because she was a well loved citizen of Woodward but now a hunted criminal wanted for treason.
As she walked along, she met Lycans on her way but to her greatest surprise,....again,..they didn't attack and she wondered why. "I don't understand why these Lycans are staring at me,...and they are everywhere!!!,..Oh! by the gods,.do they like me??", She said jokingly as she talked to herself and smiling at the same time thinking they were scared of her but on the other hand, Woodward held a special place in General Edna's heart. It was where she had learned the values of honor, integrity, and loyalty that had guided her throughout her entire life and her body itched to go back but she couldn't.
It was now mid-day as she reached the river bank, she stood there and looked towards the direction of Woodward, letting out a huge sigh she said as she shook her head from side to side, "What exactly am I doing? I need a plan..but first I have to go back to the captain...maybe he'll help". She resolved to go back to meet Blitzer to ask for his help but at that moment she needed as much rest as she could get because she felt so tired and weak with bruises all over her body. "Oh great,..a tree,... perfect shade", she said as she bent down to sit. "Aaaarrrhhgg!! It hurts" she continued as she held her left shoulder and removed her prison shoes, rested her back on the tree and fell asleep almost immediately, although had some thoughts about meeting the handsome Lycan captain again before closing her eyes.
Hours later, it was almost getting dark, Blitzer woke up as he had his much needed sleep. He stood up, took off his clothes and jumped into the river to have a bath. Unknown to him before they went their separate ways at the forest, Edna whispered to one of her female Lycan companions Vona to keep an eye on Blitzer. He noticed someone staring from behind the bush close to the river bank,.."who's there?!,..show yourself!!" He yelled into the young quiet night looking to the direction where the noise came from as he stepped out of the river, naked and exposing his sexy physique, his hair was wet.
A young man behind the bush close by gently and quietly stepped out and in a calm voice and respectful manner said as he kept his eyes down avoiding to look at Edna's body,.."forgive me General,..I was asked to follow you here and make sure you don't miss your way". She looked at him as she walked to the tree to put on her clothes. "Okay,...you can look up now, I won't hurt you", she said. "But tell me kid, why would the captain send you on such an errand??" Edna continued.
"I have no idea General,..but I do know for some reason something about you fascinates him and I have not seen him smile like that in a very long time" he replied in a low voice incase the Alpha king Denva's spies are around for captain Blitzer and his cousin the Alpha are always at loggerheads. She moved forward and stood at the edge of the river, her heart pounding with a mixture of fear of what might happen if she returned to Woodward despite being innocent and excitement of the thought of seeing the captain again but unaware of what would happen if she enters the Klaven Clan territory. "Okay kid,..do me a favor,.take me to the captain", she said as she reaches for a small knife and placed it by the side of her shorts, a knife she took from one of the guards the previous day while escaping execution. The boy nodded in agreement and said "Sure thing General,..this way...follow me". After hours of walking back to where she last saw Blitzer, , Edna caught sight of a clearing ahead. She approached cautiously, aware of the presence that awaited her. "Come on General" the boy said as he gestured with his hands for her to come quickly. As she stepped into the open space, her eyes widened. "Wooooooow!!!!,. this place is beautiful" she said as she walked along led by the boy.
"Welcome, Edna," Captain Blitzer's voice resonated from a nearby space with a melodic charm. Edna managed to find her voice, gazing upon the captain Blitzer again as she smiled, " Captain, it is good to see you again. I have come seeking your wisdom and guidance on how to carry out my quest", she said. The Lycan captain nodded, a faint smile playing upon his lips. "I sense a great determination within you, Edna. I shall do my best to assist you. But first, we must get you settled. No one will harm you I assure you", Edna took a deep breath, nodded and said "Thank you captain", her voice filled with gratitude but at the same time they stared at each other like they couldn't wait to be alone with each other, so much that the boy took notice.
As she was led by the captain's sub-ordinates, members of the pack loyal to him, there were also many who grumbled underneath their breath as she walked along, cursing because she came from Woodward but they couldn not harm her, not just because the Captain said so , but for the same reason she had been wondering about which made her remember again the question asked by Blitzer the previous day " you do not know who you are ,..do you?" . They arrived at a small cabin, that had just a bed, a chair and a table. "Here we are,..some food and fresh clothes will be brought to you soon", one of the men said with a stern look on his face. "Thank you", Edna replied trying to smile at the man but his eyes meeting the stern look forced her to take back her smile. "Everyone here looks so serious like they are gonna eat me"... Edna said in a low voice making a comic face mimicking the man.
Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months,..... Edna's mind was filled with questions of how to meet with King Zirenius of Woodward but still no solutions yet as she became impatient with the names of the conspiring nobles who falsely accused her of treason ran through her mind day after day. She had one consolation,..the thoughts of the captain Blitzer , especially the very first time she set hee eyes on him in the forest. At the same time as she sat in the cabin, almost every discussion she heard around the cabin seemed to speak about the Alpha king Denva,..mostly unpleasant words. But at this time, news had already gotten to the ears of the Alpha about Edna residing in the Lycan territory.
On the day of the festival of the moon goddess, Edna, fast asleep heard a hard knock on the door, "Who is it??!" She yelled out but there was no answer. She stood up and walked towards the door, opened the door and saw Blitzer. Her eyes widened again like the sleep had disappeared from her eyes, "captain,..what are you doing here???", She asked.."I'm captain of the army here,...I can go anywhere I want you know,.. including this cabin you are in". " Well you are right" Edna replied. "It's the festival of the moon goddess today,..why don't you come join us" he continued.
"Uuuummmm,...I think I'll pass, I need to sleep" Edna replied . "That is not a request General" Blitzer said in a soft tone but she could feel the authority in his voice and he wondered why they needed her to be at the festival, although at the same time, she found him really attractive at that point.."put some clothes on,..the Alpha king Denva requests your presence", the captain said with a straight face. That made Edna wonder what's going on between the the Alpha and Blitzer . "Okay, let's go then", she said as she put on her shirt and followed the captain and the Lycan guard.
As they walked, approaching the entrance door, Edna cautiously made her way through the towering halls of the Klaven Clan castle looking around incase of any attack on her. The ancient stones whispered with secrets, and the air crackled with a foreboding energy. The rumors and stories she had heard from passersby about the Alpha King Denva echoed in her mind as well as the unhappy face Blitzer put up while he was at the cabin a while ago, but her determination pushed her forward. She had come this far and would not turn back now. As she reached the grand entrance. The massive double doors stood before her, intricately carved with symbols of power and dominance. She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and slowly pushed them open. The doors creaked, and she stepped into the vast throne room. The chamber was adorned with opulence, shimmering in gold and crimson. Torches flickered, casting shadows on the stone walls. At the far end of the room, a magnificent throne rose, and seated upon it was the figure of Denva. The Alpha King exuded an aura of darkness.
"So!!! The rumors are true!,.. a Woodward General of the army of the kingdom of the North, in my territory, and a woman for that matter. How epic!!!". King Denva said in a rough voice and disrespectful manner.
