She thought that even if the whole world betrayed her, Frank Parker wouldn't.
After all, he was Frank Parker.
The man who had promised to treat her well for a lifetime.
How could he do this?
If even he left her, she couldn't bear it.
Now... he was the only one she had left.
"Rebecca, calm down. I did promise to help you, but this matter is different. And don't make wild guesses, she's Ashton's woman, I couldn't possibly have any thoughts about her."
"I happened to be there at the time, and I just helped make a clarification. Don't overthink it."
This explanation was not what Rebecca wanted to hear.
She sneered, "Did Ashton ask you to help?"
"No," Frank answered quickly, "Ashton never asked me."
"And you say you didn't fall for her?" Rebecca's voice became even more sharp, "If you don't like her, why did you help her? You've never been the kind of person who likes to meddle in others' affairs. Frank Parker, did you ever consider how I would feel when you did this?"
