"What are you doing here, Felix?" Adrian asked.
"I'm with my dad and sister. We came to see my mom. She's sick." Felix replied while Adrian observed his face. He looked like he had been crying for long.
"What's wrong with her?" Adrian asked, concerned.
"The doctor said she has cancer and it's in its final stage now. According to him, she has three weeks before finally leaving us." Felix explained while tears began welling up in his eyes again.
"Can I see her?" Adrian asked.
"Sure. Come with me." Felix said and led him to a different ward close to Cedric's ward. In there was a woman lying on a hospital bed with a teenage girl beside her holding her hand.
On seeing Adrian, Jude, Felix's father came closer.
"Good morning, sir." Adrian greeted.
"Good morning. How're you?"
"I'm fine sir." Adrian replied.
"Thanks for the other day. We wouldn't have made it out without you." Jude said.
"It's nothing sir. Do you mind if I say a prayer for your wife?" Adrian asked.
"Sure, go ahead. We need every remedy we can think of now." Jude said.
Adrian smiled and nodded. He then went towards Anne, Felix's mom, and held her hand. He then closed his eyes, which were already emitting a golden hue and said a short prayer.
Anne, who was wide awake before Adrian started his prayer for her, slowly fell asleep. Everyone was scared but what everyone failed to notice was that the machine that was beeping once every two seconds due to her gradually depleting heart rate, began beeping faster, indicating that her heart rate is returning to normal.
Adrian bade them farewell and headed back to his dad's ward to see him eating a strawberry from the bowl of fruits that was handed to him earlier.
"Hi, dad. How're you doing?" Adrian asked.
"Hey, son. Well, I'm great. Thanks for rescuing me from that mini-hell I was stuck in." Cedric said.
"It's nothing, dad. You know, I originally thought you were dead." Adrian said, keeping the conversation going while reading the details from a nearby file he picked up.
"Well, everyone thought that. I'm sure even my company did. Well, they better prepare a resurrection feast for me as soon as I get there." Cedric said while Adrian laughed.
" Resurrection feast? Is there such a thing?" Adrian asked amidst the laughter.
"I don't think so. But mine would be the first." Cedric said and chuckled.
"That aside. You'll be discharged tomorrow, dad. I still wonder how that's possible." Adrian said.
"Well when you jumped over that cliff, I discovered I had a little bit of that serum on my hands and so I ingested it so as to hide it. I guess that thing gave me extremely fast healing and replenishment abilities." Cedric explained.
"Whoa. It states here that your blood count is back to normal even though the electroshock device drained almost 75% of your blood. This serum must be extraordinary." Adrian said in bewilderment.
"It indeed is." Cedric said.
"How?" Adrian asked, suddenly getting interested.
"Simply put, it's not from this planet."
"What?" Adrian was obviously shocked at this new discovery.
"Yeah. Come have some fruit, son. It's fresh." Cedric said, changing the topic.
"We have a lot to talk about, Dad." Adrian said.
"Yeah. I know. Between how I got it and me disappearing, there's quite the story. But have some fruit first." Cedric chided his son.
"Okay, dad." Adrian joined his dad and picked an apple.
The next day, Cedric was discharged and taken to Nancy's house so he could live with them. He was wowed when he saw the luxury Adrian had been enjoying for the past ten years.
Nancy, on the other hand started getting along with Cedric to the extent that they began talking about love and commitment and everything related to that topic.
Cedric had no trouble settling with them. Himself and Nancy went to the mall later in the afternoon to pick some clothes for himself. It was easy selecting some clothes for him because he wasn't the suit-and-tie CEO.
Adrian was in his room playing games on his PS5 console when his phone rang. He wouldn't have known if not for the airpods in his ears.
He checked the caller ID. It was an unknown number.
"Hello, Angel?" A feminine voice answered from the other end.
"Yes?" Adrian answered.
"Okay. Hi. I'm Felix's elder sister, Happiness." The voice replied.
"Oh, hi. How're you doing? How's Felix?" Adrian asked.
"I'm fine. Felix wants to invite you to a party we're holding at our house. Will you be able to come?"
"Sure, I will. Text me the address. I'll be there in an hour." Adrian answered after checking his schedule for the day.
"Great. Expecting you. I'll send the address now." She said and ended the call.
About a minute after the call, Adrian's phone gave a beeping sound, indicating he just received a text message.
Using that as his cue, Adrian went for a bath and donned his complete Naked Wolfe costume when he was done. He took his phone and after viewing the message, took about five pictures of himself for his admirers on TikTok. He even made a video using those pictures and posted it.
Then he headed downstairs. "Hey, baby. That's really good looking. Where're you off to?" Nancy asked.
"A friend invited me for a party. A new friend." Adrian replied.
"Okay dear. Have fun, okay?" Nancy said.
"Sure mom, I will." Adrian said and was about to step out.
"Aren't you missing something?" Nancy asked, stopping Adrian in his tracks.
He looked back at Nancy and saw her spreading her hands open, asking for a hug. He rushed into them and did as she said for about a minute. Then on disengaging, she handed him the keys to her Venza.
"You won't look this good and trek, son. You need a ride to match." Nancy said with a smile.
"I love you, mom." Adrian smiled back and rushed out, then drove to Felix's residence.
Meanwhile, at Boris Dentine's lab.
Dentine's watch beeped. Reminding him that the satellite would have been in place by now. He quickly rushed to the techie's corner to ask about the progress of the satellite's movement.
"Just in time sir. I found their location." Devin said triumphantly.
"Alright deliver a shock and I'll send some people to pick him up." Boris ordered.
"What about his son, sir?" Devin asked.
"That boy is now too strong. It won't take a human to deal with him. It'll take more than just human beings. I have my ways." Dentine answered.
"Alright. Delivering shock." Devin said.
But instead the computer screen beeped with an error message: 'Electroshock device offline.'
Dentine was dumbfounded. Devin was shocked. No ordinary person would've found the device hidden inside him.
"What's the last known location of the tracking device?" Boris asked.
"One sec. That would be St. Nicholas Hospital." Devin said.
"Well isn't this great? He'll be at that hospital for weeks to start with. Good work, Devin." Boris said.
"Thank you, sir. Should I send men there?" Devin asked.
"No. I'll send a hybrid. That'll teach him no one can run from me." Boris said and headed to his office.
