Chereads / The Sultan's Heart / Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

When she turned around after hearing the back door close and saw the charming, tall, and gorgeous man staring at her intently, she felt uneasy and awkward since she didn't know why he had called her into this room by herself.

Yakub recalled the manner in which, when he wanted to speak to her alone, she gave a cute attitude of fright and said that she was the concubine and didn't even know the sultan, which shocked and amused him at the time.

He studied the most captivating being in front of him, who was twitching her hands anxiously. He questioned, "So what is your name, my lady?" after clearing his throat to catch her attention. She gathered the strength to meet his gaze as soon as she heard his query and softly said, "My name is Aylin, sir."

Yakub was enthralled by her sweet voice and couldn't help but be drawn in. He understood that there was something alluring about her that compelled him to want to learn more.

Aylin was asked to describe the earlier incident involving the palace guard failing to look away from her after Yakub nodded and moved to sit on the desk, which was a bit away from where she was standing.

Yakub was so entranced by Aylin's attractiveness as she began to describe the events that he was unable to pay attention to what she was saying.

Aylin, who was shaken by his piercing attention, did her best to remain calm and spoke, stammering, in the hopes that he would believe her because he appeared to be a significant figure in this castle.

After she finished, she cautiously inquired so as not to offend him and cause difficulty once more. "Since it is already extremely late, and I'm sure my maid and Miss Farha are looking for me, I must depart, if that's okay."

Yakub laughed as he observed her anxiety and reluctance to be here with him. He thought she was adorable and innocent. Yakub therefore smiled and nodded. "Yes, Miss, you may leave. I look forward to seeing you soon."

Aylin, who was already uncomfortable and tense, had nothing to say in response so she simply bowed and hastily walked to the door while clutching her long robe in her hands.

The moment she was ready to open the door, she overheard him add, "Oh and I found you very very beautiful miss Aylin." Aylin swallowed because she didn't like his flirtatious tone and left the room, shutting the door behind her.

Bashir entered the office afterknocking on the door to speak with Sultan Yakub when he saw Aylin leaving. Sultan Yakub was standing close to the large window, taking in the scenery. "My sultan, what did you think of that young lady?"

Bashir enquired. "Did she strike you as suspicious?" Yakub responded without looking up. "She is a rare, gorgeous butterfly who is capable of captivating a man's heart like mine; she is nothing unsettling at all. "

"But Sultan, what if her beauty is all a facade?Should we not exercise caution?" Bashir couldn't help but ask as their chat continued. Yakub had a brief pause while he thought over Bashir's remarks. Appearances can be deceiving, therefore it is essential to exercise caution" he said in response.

"You bring a valid argument. To the contrary, I think that everyone deserves a fair shot unless proven guilty. " Then, in a grave tone, Yakub said again, "So what happened to the man servant? Why has he not yet arrived? Bring him over right away; I need to talk to him."

Bashir nodded and said " I will go and check what is delaying Yasir pasha to bring him." Bashir bowed to Yakub and walked away. As Yakub waited for the man servant to show up, his impatience increased.

How could he flirt with her even though he didn't know her, Aylin wondered as she recalled the recent encounter with that mysterious, attractive man.

She mentioned having been the Sultan's concubine. He does not seem to fear the sultan. As Aylin was considering all of this, she overheard someone addressing her as "Miss Aylin!"

Her maid was calling her from the end of the corridor when she turned to look at her. Miss Farha, the sewing instructor, and some guards were also with Hana, who had a set expression of both worry and relief.

Hana ran over to her, giving her a firm hug and said,"Ya Allah, Miss Aylin, I was so concerned when you didn't come back to your chamber that something terrible must have happened to you." Aylin felt Hana's genuine concern for my welfare as she held Aylin firmly.

Knowing she had someone who cared so much about her security was consoling. She was OK, Aylin told her, but her troubled expression persisted.

The sewing instructor and Miss Farha exchanged glances, their expressions displaying a mix of relief and intrigue. When Miss Farha and the sewing instructor approached, the sewing instructor inquired, "Where did you go? What has happened to you?!"

Aylin felt ashamed to even respond to that because she got lost while following her company since she was lost in her thoughts, so she muttered, "Sorry for the trouble," while looking down. Being a newcomer, I had no idea where I was or how to go to the dorm." As she recalled the episode, Aylin's cheeks began to flush with embarrassment.

Especially considering that she was supposed to be following her group, she couldn't help but feel stupid for getting lost. She also retained the bit about meeting a man who flirted with her because it might damage her reputation, as she looked down at her feet.

Miss Farha signed and gave the maid the order to take her to the the dormitory for concubines. Aylin trailed Hana as she made her way to the dorm. Aylin was too exhausted to even stand when Hanan asked if she wanted to take a bath before going to the dorm, so she replied that she wanted to rest first.

Hana advanced and arrived at the dorm while nodding. Because Aylin was too exhausted to change into something comfortable, she simply lay on the bed and tried to forget everything that had gone wrong for her today.

Sultana Habiba was traveling with her ladies and guards to meet the queen mother Fatima. On her route, she came into contact with Leila, the concubine she detested and despised the most, and her two attendants.

Sultana Habiba was furious with Concubine Leila after she bowed and flashed a haughty smirk. Leila continued, "I'm delighted that Sultan Yakub has assumed the throne; he truly deserves this position."

Habiba said, "Oh well thanks," realizing that she had used a mocking tone and that she hadn't meant anything by what she had just said. "Since my son is the most qualified of all the princes, he was chosen to rule as sultan. Concubine sons are not really deserving of a the throne Am I correct? "

"You are right, my sultana, Leila responded with a forced grin as she made every effort to hide the fury on her face. "So, if you don't mind, I'll go my sultana."

Habiba nodded as she saw Leila pass by with a bitter expression on her face, making her delighted to put that vile woman in her place. Sultana Habiba subsequently made further progress toward the queen mother.

At the Sultan's office

Yakub's face was contorted with rage and betrayal after learning everything from the man servant that Yasir Pasha had sent. He had already foreseen this from the prince and his mother.

"My Sultan, what do you order us to do?" Yasir Pasha asked carefully. The atmosphere became tense as Yakub's rage rose thinking about the betrayal.

The sound of his clinched fist hitting the desk boomed throughout the room, shocking and unnerving everyone.

They refrained from speaking after observing the sultan's outrage, which was reasonable and natural. Yakub then gritted his teeth and yelled, "Yasir pasha! tell our men to keep a watch on Leila and her sons and to report anything odd to me."

In a moment, Yasir Pasha answered, "Yes, my Sultan, it will be done." Without turning to face his subjects, Yakub nodded and stated, "You can all go now. I need some time to myself."

Bashir and the other participants bowed and departed the room to make room for the sultan.
