Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 21
The creature, realizing that the spear would only do more bad for him, ripped it out, healed his wound and threw it to the ground, not knowing what would happen next. Cias smirked, used Telekinesis to move the spear back to his hand and spoke in an annoying tone ,"Well then, Round two?".
They both engaged in a stare down, the technical advantage was with Cias and his strength was about the same as the mantis. He knew that as long as he was careful, he'd win the battle. His mind was filled with (I can win, I can win, I CAN WIN). The Land once again shook beneath them as they launched at each other. Like a game of aggressive chess where you could move whenever you wanted, they both meticulously planned out their moves, either initiating or countering their opponents attacks. The mantis was losing ground, he was getting more and more angry. This anger fueled him further and further, leading to a development. He began to evolve further, black lines started to appear across his body. These lines created runes that were empowering him. His strength and intelligence was growing by the second, and Cias began to take recognition for this. He jumped back, to evaluate the situation and just then the Mantis sent out a ki wave. Cias spoke in a quiet, slightly concerned tone ,"How does he know how to do that?". He dodged it within a hair's breadth, part of his nose, ear and cheek getting cut off in the process, healed it and was beginning to hyperventilate.
Cias then dodged a few more waves, damage just kept piling on. Just then he sent out a few spear bolts which hit the mantis and did major damage. THUNK BOOM KABOOM But the mantis took the shots at face value and continued his assault. The question was… what could Cias do, and he pondered on that for a while as he continued to evade. Cias thought (Does this work, does that work, no no NO) and really the only thing that would fix this was either refined technique or a new art and thus he thought. He knew he had to do this quickly because the longer he took the harder the fight would become. And through that thought and idea sprung across his mind. If he empowered his body with ki, and then used his telekinesis on his weapon as well, it would amplify the amount of power he had by a ton. Using ki, physical strength and telekinesis would lead to a super powerful and fast attack which would practically double his attack power and speed.
And so he started to try it out, using ki to move his spear with his mind towards the mantis while adding his physical strength, he missed just slightly. The calculations of where it would be and how fast were still getting ironed out but if done right could be indispensable for his win. And thus, fighting onwards into the night he finally unlocked how to do this and called it Art: Telekinesis Body Amplification. Getting creative with this technique he now had the upper hand, ready to end this. He screamed out in anger ,"DIE'' and plunged his spear into the mantis about four times. With each strike, it further ruptured the organs and bodily structure of the mantis. SCREECH… The mantis, even with the renewed power he was gaining, could do little against these attacks.
And with one swipe of the spear that the mantis couldn't even perceive, his head was chopped off, and then cut into little bits. In the mantis's last moments before that happened, he had gained comprehensible knowledge and thought (I am defeated, someone stronger than me BEAT me for being weak, being PREY, I hadn't thought even once of defeat and yet here I am, but… I hope that if anything, this kid passes on my legacy and the legacy of all those whom he's defeated, I don't want to have died for nothing…). And just then the mantis imparted something onto Cias, combining its body into Cias's spear. Cias was surprised, he didn't expect this but got the intention, he looked at his new gold (The green on the mantis had changed color by being introduced to Cias's aura), black and brown spear, twirling it round and round. Testing its weight and balance, he noticed something, a soul now resided within it, and yet it was not a complete one. Throughout time he'd be sure to realize the true importance of it, but now, it was time to walk home with pride. Smiling at the thought of putting something to rest, the nervousness and anxiety dissipated, causing new, unfound wisdom to remain.
