Bandalf asked me with a mix of surprise and a shocked expression, "Young man, are you really a human?"
What? What did he mean by that?
I responded with a confused voice, "What do you mean, am I really a human? Of course, I am human. What else could I be?"
He waved it off, saying, "Well, you know what, let's forget about it for now, young man. I now know your affinity. Now, let's find out about your SumMon's affinity." He continued to proceed with finding Truck-Kun's affinity, but I interrupted him with a pressing question.
"Wait a minute, old man," I interjected, my voice laced with insistence. "Do you really think I can just let that slide? What the hell did you mean when you asked me whether I was a human or not?" I pressed him for an answer, not willing to dismiss his earlier question.
*Sigh*
He let out a sigh and responded, "Young man, I may have mastered many forms of magic, but even I can't fully determine one's affinities without some assistance. When I tried to find your affinity, I noticed a few questionable things, which led to my inquiry about your humanity. However, based on what I've seen so far, you are most likely a human, and I believe in you." He chuckled heartily before continuing.
"If you truly wish to uncover all your affinities, I suggest visiting one of the magic towers in any of the towns. They have a magical device called an affinity orb, which can accurately identify all your affinities," he suggested before turning his attention back to finding Truck-Kun's affinity.
His words left me even more perplexed. Was he hiding something from me? Well, if he posed any threat, I knew I could find a way to escape later. As I contemplated this, he suddenly spoke up.
He smiled and said, "All right, young man, I have successfully found your SumMon's affinity. He has an affinity for Grey Magic, Light Magic, and Dark Magic. As for you, there were some problems, and for now, I can only identify one affinity, and that is Grey Magic."
I pondered his earlier comment but decided to focus on our upcoming skills. "I see, that's good. Now, what about the skills you're planning to teach us?" I asked with curiosity.
"Well, I've already chosen the skills. For your SumMon, I'll teach 'Gas Exhaust' from Dark Magic. It allows the user to emit poisonous gas to stun, poison, or even render enemies unconscious. At higher levels, it can be used as a smoke screen, and you can stack different effects together," he explained.
I pondered his explanation. "Hmm... This sounds more like a status effect skill rather than an attack skill. Why did you choose this kind of skill for Truck-Kun? Also, can't you teach us that magic you used earlier? What was it called again? 'Begone'?" I inquired, my curiosity getting the better of me.
Bandalf replied, "Well, the skill I used earlier is a very high-level spell, so neither of you can possibly learn it at this point. As for why I chose the 'Gas Exhaust' skill for your Summon, it's because it's one of the rarest skills within Dark Magic. Typically, only certain dragon species can even learn it, with very few exceptions, of course," he explained while stroking his beard.
I thought for a moment. What? Is it a rare skill? But it doesn't sound like much, to be honest. No, I should not judge a skill by its name or description; I have personally experienced it.
"All right, old man, you are the expert, so I will leave it to you. And what about me?" I asked with sparkling eyes.
"As for you, I am planning to teach you the skill of 'Grey Magic,'" he told me with a straight face.
"Grey Magic? Didn't you say I already have an affinity for that? I want to ask you what spell are you going to teach me from Grey Magic?" I asked him curiously.
"Well, don't confuse it with the affinity. There is a skill called 'Grey Magic' that allows you to use all grey magic spells more efficiently and reduce their energy consumption as well," he explained.
Wait a minute, now that I think about it, I do remember seeing a skill like that. I think Truck-Kun had that skill from the beginning, but I couldn't understand much from the description back then. Is that skill really as amazing as Bandalf says it is?
"All right, old man, I was expecting something more impactful, like an attack skill. But if you think this will help me more, then I will listen to what you say for now," I told him.
"Good, then shall we begin? I will start with your SumMon first," he said to me and raised the old staff in his hand high in the air.
Then the staff began to radiate a faint light, and Truck-Kun also started to emit a faint glow. After a few minutes, both their glow began to fade.
"It's done. Now I will teach you the skill, young man," he told me and raised his staff into the air once more.
Suddenly, the familiar Status Screen popped up for some reason and displayed some text.
*Gandalf The Grey wants to teach you a skill will you accept?*
*Y/N*
I selected the Y and it displayed something again.
*Learning the skill….*
*Skill Learned Successfully*
*Acquired the Skill Grey Magic*
*NOTE: As a hero bonus the Skill Grey Magic have ranked up from E to C*
Wow, great! I have successfully learned the skill. Should I take a look at it? I thought to myself and selected the skill to learn more about it.
Grey Magic (C) (Passive)
Grey Magic is an incredibly rare and unique type of magic. Instead of using elemental or specific energy types, it taps into pure energy itself. Your level, and skill rank, determine the number of spells you can learn. The beauty of Grey Magic lies in its boundless potential.
You can use it for offense, defense, speed enhancement, or any other purpose you can imagine. But remember, mastering Grey Magic demands a deep understanding of this pure energy source. The more you learn and explore, the more powerful you become in this mysterious and versatile magical art. Embrace Grey Magic, and you'll unlock endless possibilities in the world of magic.
Effect: Allows you to learn Grey magic (Magic Spells not included)
Energy: Depends on the Spells.
Proficiency: 0%
Hmm… Well, it's mostly the same as what Truck-Kun had but there is a slight change in the description. Is it because I upgraded the 'Appraisal' Skill? well, whatever. Should I take a look at Truck-Kun's new skill as well? I thought then and said, and opened the summon list.
"SumMon"
Truck-Kun
?????
What? I have a new summon other than Truck-Kun. I don't remember getting a new summon, and why is it just question marks again? Wait a minute, it's a lot similar to the upgraded version of Bloody Axe Rex. Are these two connected somehow? Should I try summoning this? I thought about it and selected the second mysterious summon, but nothing happened. I tried it a few more times, but the result didn't change.
No matter what I do, this mysterious summon is not being summoned. For now, I should leave it alone. I will look into it more later when I am free. I thought about it and selected Truck-Kun.

What Truck-Kun's level is 14!, While I am just around 17, how did he level up this much?
I was curious about something. So I asked Truck-Kun "Truck-Kun, how did you reach level 14 without even fighting? I fought around five hundred small Monkeys, including Monkey Kong, to reach my current level, but how did you level up so easily?"
Truck-Kun replied casually, "Well, while you were fighting in the Verdant Grove, my level started to rise by itself. I was confused at first, but I soon realized that we both have some kind of shared experience or something. I was planning to talk to you about this, but I forgot."
I shouted furiously at Truck-Kun, "What? You forgot to tell me something this important, you scrap metal bastard?"
He replied nonchalantly again, "Hey, I am not the only one to blame for this. You were the one who started screaming at me when you just exited Verdant Grove, and that's not all. Things started to get very interesting after that, so I naturally forgot about it."
This exchange was getting on my nerves. While I was pondering it, Bandalf began to discuss something.
"You don't know about the shared experience between a SumMoner and their SumMon? I thought that was common knowledge. Oh yes, you guys told me that you both were other worlders, right? But even still, you should learn about important things like this," he chided us while stroking his beard.
What Bandalf said was true both me and Truck-Kun were to blame. But despite the annoyance, Truck-Kun had gained two new skills, so I decided to take a look at them.
