"I am fine, thank you," I replied, feeling a sense of comfort in her presence. "It's truly an honor to meet you, Prime Minister."
I felt proud for a moment for pulling off a good response here, even though I was already on the edge of breaking Ben's neck.
She chuckled before pulling apart from the hug. "Call me, Mommy!"
As she went back to William, I snapped at Ben and walked to Nick. My heart raced as I approached Nick, who looked unsure why I was approaching him. "Hi," I said, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice. My hand was trembling while yearning for his touch.
