Chapter 26 - 1-13

Liu Wei glanced at the shocked faces of his teammates, and with a loud harrumph, finally let go of Yu Qingyu's throat.

"Hello? I've asked you a question!" Not getting any answer, Jiang Lu got even more annoyed.

Xiao Guan, Tang Zixin, and Wang Yun were all too stunned to speak. The tension in the air was just too high. They did notice that there seemed to be some sort of disagreement between Fu Zhiren and Ye Chaodan during the training, but they would have never expected that there would be so much hostility between the two! Although, all of the said hostility came from Ye Chaodan. Fu Zhiren was just… looking as if he was about to cry.

"Ask your friend what an amazing deed he has done, if you really wanna know." Liu Wei gave Jiang Lu a wide smile which didn't reach his eyes, and bent down to pick up his bag. He accidentally dropped it earlier, when he rushed to press Yu Qingyu against the wall.

"Oh, and one more thing," he added, straightening right back. "From now on, I won't tolerate being on the same team with him. Either he goes, or I will leave." Not waiting for the answer, he turned around on his heel and walked away.

Caught by surprise, Jiang Lu blinked a few times, staring at Liu Wei's back. It took him a moment to recover. As soon as he did though, he jumped at Yu Qingyu, who was still standing by the wall unmoving, staring blankly into space.

"What the hell have you done?"

"I…" Yu Qingyu's eyes started tearing up again. "I don't want to talk about that," he said in a small voice, turning his head away.

How was he supposed to explain it to anyone? That both he and the current Ye Chaodan were actually transmigrators coming from different worlds, doing missions with systems? And that on his previous mission, Yu Qingyu caused the other man to be captured and imprisoned? Who would even believe him?

"So you did wrong him in some way, huh…" Jiang Lu shook his head in disbelief.

"I… might have. Even though I didn't mean to… Or rather, I had no choice…"

Jiang Lu sighed, checking the time. "Well. Then you better fix that," he stated curtly, interrupting Yu Qingyu's mumbling. He still had to go take a shower before work, he didn't have time to deal with any of it now. He wouldn't have patience for it anyway. "Or you heard what he said. You're out of the team," he added.

"What?" Yu Qingyu's head jerked right up in shock. "You're kicking me out?"

"Unless you fix the situation, yeah." Jiang Lu shrugged his shoulders. Wasn't it obvious whom he should choose? Fu Zhiren might have been his best, and only, friend, but Ye Chaodan was a professional player, he was irreplaceable!

"But-" Yu Qingyu wanted to protest, but Jiang Lu was no longer listening. His patience had already run out a long time ago. He passed Yu Qingyu by, and quickly walked away, leaving his friend behind.

"Umm…" Tang Zixin, unable to bear leaving Yu Qingyu alone in such a state, came over, and placed a hand on Yu Qingyu's shoulder. "Don't worry too much… I'm sure that whatever it is, you two can talk it out! Just explain everything to Ye Chaodan, how the things were from your perspective." He gave Yu Qingyu an encouraging smile.

Talk it out? Explain everything? As if things could be so easy…

There was no point complaining about it though, so Yu Qingyu nodded his head, and tried to return the smile. It came out very strained, but Tang Zixin seemed satisfied.

'He is Liu Wei, right?'

Once he got back home and took a cold shower, Yu Qingyu finally managed to calm down a bit, even though his chest still felt incredibly tight.

[That seems to be the case.]

At this point, Yu Qingyu didn't need 520's confirmation any longer. He asked, but it was just a rhetorical question. Now that he figured it all out, he couldn't believe he didn't think about it earlier.

Everything just matched perfectly. It wasn't only those dark, cold, tired eyes with dark circles underneath, indicating the lack of quality sleep. There was also the messy high ponytail, a few layers of clothes, covering as much skin as possible, mostly calm and collected behavior, and withdrawn attitude, but also a certain sharpness… Honestly, how could he not have realized it sooner?

Maybe it was just because he wrongly assumed that all transmigrators came from his original world. Or maybe… He's been trying to forget how he betrayed the man who's been nothing but nice to him so desperately, that he wouldn't let such a thought in.

Of course, Liu Wei has only been nice to him because he believed him to be Chen Rumin, but that still didn't diminish Yu Qingyu's guilt. It was enough for him to realize that deep down, Liu Wei wasn't a bad person.

Yu Qingyu let out a sigh and shook his head, trying to stop thinking about it. '520, what do you think I should do now?'

[Host can try to talk things through with him, as Tang Zixin advised. After all, we still don't know what his mission is. Perhaps it isn't conflicting with Host's. He might have only been acting on a personal grudge. Maybe he can be convinced to cooperate instead.]

'Cooperate, huh…'

Yu Qingyu's hopes for a truce were pretty much non-existent. It was almost impossible for Liu Wei to be willing to let it go, and 520 must have known it as well. After all, Liu Wei was a villain who wanted to destroy the whole city, because its' citizens mistreated him in the past… He was the type of person that was warm and caring for his friends, but showed no mercy for his enemies.

But Yu Qingyu had to at least give it a try. To confirm what Liu Wei's mission was, if nothing else.

Although 520 didn't say it, Yu Qingyu figured out that Liu Wei must be here because of him. Otherwise, it would be too much of a coincidence. And, if that was the case, then his mission was likely to be related to him as well. It was either to help him, despite the animosity… Or to make him fail.

Yu Qingyu took a deep breath, rubbing his temple. He was feeling guilty, and would like to make it up to Liu Wei, if possible…

But not at the cost of his life. If Liu Wei intended to go against him, Yu Qingyu wouldn't sit back and let Liu Wei have his way.
