The world has been completed? That didn't make any sense!
Unless…
'520, what happened?' Yu Qingyu tried asking, but as expected, the system didn't respond. 520 must have already left to prepare the next transmigration.
Yu Qingyu brushed back his hair, looking around frantically. What was he supposed to do now?
Of course, there wasn't anything he could do. The mission was finished. Whether successfully or not, he couldn't tell for sure, but based on the circumstances, he would bet on the latter. Whatever he tried to do now, it wouldn't change a thing. He could only sit and wait.
However, in his panicked state, Yu Qingyu couldn't think clearly. So he broke out into run, rushing to get back to Chunren Peak.
He hasn't been paying any attention to the people passing by, until someone bumped into him, grabbing his elbow.
"Wow, wow, wow! Shizun, where are you running?" Liu Wei laughed, swaying lightly due to the impact, before he managed to regain his balance.
Yu Qingyu glanced at him with his eyes wide open, breathing heavily. "What has happened?" he asked, tugging on Liu Wei's sleeve.
"Nothing much~" Liu Wei laughed again, looking back at Yu Qingyu with a satisfied smirk on his face. "Just Weixin-shixiong made a very important decision. He's been feeling really guilty about how much effort Shizun was putting in for his sake, even to the point of going to the demon realm and getting hurt. So, he decided to end it all."
All the blood seemed to have drained from Yu Qingyu's face, and his hand, grabbing onto Liu Wei, tightened, to the point that his knuckles turned white. "…Is he… dead?" His voice was weak, as he stared at Liu Wei with a look of utter horror in his eyes.
Liu Wei clicked his tongue, his eyes narrowing. "Of course not! Who do you take me for? Do you really think I would drive an innocent person, who never did anything to hurt me, to their death?" He paused for a moment, before letting out a short, mirthless laugh. "Well I guess you would."
"That's not what I-" Yu Qingyu wanted to protest, but Liu Wei interrupted him,
"Anyways, he's still alive. He just had his spiritual core removed."
Yu Qingyu's face dropped, and his hand loosened, making Liu Wei's sleeve slip out of his hand. So that's how it was…
If that was the case, then it made sense for the mission to be over. After all, 520 did say that the mission can be failed ahead of time, if Zhao Weixin becoming the next Peak Master was no longer possible. And with his spiritual core gone, Zhao Weixin really did have no future in cultivation…
Although Yu Qingyu was feeling down because of failing his mission, at the same time, he was also a bit relieved. "So the reason Zhao Weixin had been looking unwell, was that just because he was feeling guilty?"
"Yeah?" Liu Wei frowned in response, not understanding why Yu Qingyu was concerned about it now.
But he became even more baffled when Yu Qingyu exhaled deeply, and his expression cleared up, a small smile appearing on his face.
"…You just lost your mission. What the hell are you smiling for?" Liu Wei couldn't help but ask.
"Hmm?" Yu Qingyu glanced back at the man, his face completely calm, in a striking contrast to the state of panic he was in just a moment ago. "Oh well, I'm just glad it's nothing serious. I've been worried about him!"
Liu Wei blinked a few times, staring at Yu Qingyu. He opened up his mouth, but before he could say a word…
[The preparations are complete. Transfer to a new body in 3… 2… 1…]
520 returned, and pulled Yu Qingyu out of the body.
Gu Huiji's body which Yu Qingyu had been occupying suddenly collapsed, like a puppet that just had its strings cut off. Out of the reflex, Liu Wei caught him in his arms.
He stared down at the empty shell with a look of total disbelief on his face, until 748 finished its preparation, and pulled him out as well.
The bodies of the master and his disciple have fallen down on the ground, resulting in a commotion unusual for Yulin Peak. The top healers have been immediately summoned to the scene, but it was no use. They couldn't even figure out the cause of death. It was as if out of a sudden, their souls had suddenly left the bodies…

Three years later, Chunren Peak was slowly recovering from the shock.
After the sudden death of Peak Master, the Peak was shrouded in gloom and chaos. Not only everyone was saddened by the loss of Gu Huiji, who was a well-liked figure, but there was also no one who could take his place. His top disciple was gone as well, and there was no appointed successor. Moreover, no one was even suitable for the position!
After a lot of deliberation, Sect Leader Zhang Longshu took Han Yanwu, the strongest among Gu Huiji's remaining disciples, under his wing.
Han Yanwu was undoubtedly talented when it came to cultivation and martial arts. In the months prior to Gu Huiji's death, he was greatly overshadowed by his shidi, Xue Molin, but that didn't mean his skills could be overlooked. It was just because Xue Molin turned out to be a genius, and extremely hardworking at that. But under Zhang Longshu's careful eyes, Han Yanwu blossomed into a peerless cultivator.
If there was anything that could hold him back from becoming the next Peak Master, it was his short temper, and lack of patience, especially when it came to dreary tasks like paperwork.
Thankfully, his shixiong, Zhao Weixin, came in to help. Although with his spiritual core gone, he was no longer capable of cultivating, he still wished to remain in the sect. He spent most of his life on Chunren Peak, and was reluctant to leave. Where else was he supposed to go? Moreover, although everyone assured him it was not his fault, he still felt somewhat responsible for Gu Huiji's demise… He wanted to make up for it, somehow. So, he offered to become Han Yanwu's advisor, and take care of all the tasks related to the Peak's management himself.
The mystery of Chunren Peak Master Gu Huiji's death remained forever unsolved. As the time went on, the people eventually moved on as well. However, he remained forever in his disciples' fond memories.
