Chapter 2 - A Lesson for All Male Staff

As the sun rose high in the sky, Aisha made her way to the village school for girls, a place where knowledge flourished and young minds were nurtured. Aisha, the wise and strong leader, stood at the forefront. The girls of the village adored her, and she took great pride in guiding them towards a bright future.

Entering the bustling halls of the school, Aisha could hear the excitement and anticipation filling the air. It was graduation day, a day of celebration and promise. Girls of all ages donned their crisp white uniforms, their faces shining with enthusiasm and hope.

Aisha made her way to the auditorium, where she would deliver an inspiring commencement speech. She approached the podium, her voice commanding attention as she began to speak.

Aisha: (Addressing the students) Good morning, my beautiful girls of this enlightened village. Today, we gather here to celebrate your achievements and to mark the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. Each of you holds the power to shape your own destinies, to bring change and growth in this village and beyond.

As her speech concluded, the audience erupted in applause, their faces filled with determination and hope. Aisha couldn't help but shine with pride as the girls embraced their dreams.

As the audience dispersed, Aisha noticed one of the pupils, Sara, lingering behind. Concerned, she approached the young girl.

Aisha: Sara, is everything alright? You seem troubled.

Sara: (Nervously) Aisha, I am sorry to bother you, but there's something I need to tell you.

Aisha: Speak freely, my dear. I am here to listen.

Sara proceeded to inform Aisha about a cleaning guy who had been peeping into the girls' bathrooms. Aisha's face hardened with determination as she realized the severity of the situation.

Aisha: (Firmly) Show me where this man is, Sara. We cannot tolerate such behavior in our village.

Guided by Sara, Aisha headed towards the washroom. As she stepped inside, sure enough, she spotted the cleaning guy peeping through a small crack in the door. Her eyes narrowed with anger as she swiftly grabbed the man by his ear, dragging him into the auditorium where most students and parents had gathered.

Aisha: (Angry) What do you think you're doing, invading the privacy of our girls? Explain yourself!

Cleaning Guy: (Sobbing) I... I'm sorry, Aisha! Please, have mercy! I'll never do it again!

Aisha: (Scolding) Sorry is not enough! Your actions are despicable, disrespectful, and against everything our village stands for. You will be held accountable for your actions.

As Aisha scolded the cleaning guy, the audience listened intently, their eyes widening in disbelief. At the end of her reprimand, Aisha gave a stern order.

Aisha: Drop to your knees on the auditorium stage, assume the murga position, and stay there until I decide to release you. Let this be a lesson not only for you but for all the male staff in our village.

The cleaning guy reluctantly dropped to his knees, his face red with shame. As the girls looked on, they couldn't help but giggle, finding some amusement in his punishment.

Aisha: (Addressing the students) Girls, I understand your amusement, but let us remember that this is a serious matter. However, I will grant you the opportunity to give this man a symbolic kick to remind him of the consequences of his actions. But remember, this is not an act of violence, but a demonstration of strength and unity as empowered women.

Excited whispers spread throughout the crowd as the girls lined up, taking turns to give the cleaning guy a gentle kick. Laughter filled the auditorium, and amidst it all, Aisha watched with a satisfied smile.

When the last girl had kicked, Aisha stood up, addressing the cleaning guy once more.

Aisha: (Firmly) You have been given your final warning. If you ever violate the privacy and dignity of any girl in this village again, you will be permanently dismissed. Now, get up and reflect on your actions.

The cleaning guy, his face still flushed with embarrassment, thanked Aisha and hurriedly left the auditorium.

Aisha's message resonated with the girls and their families that day. The incident served as a reminder that in their matriarchal village, respect, dignity, and equality were not mere words but values to be upheld by all.
