Taylor and I exchanged uneasy looks for a while. I could not believe that I had just told a falsehood.

However, even I was frightened by the way my lies poured out of my mouth. Even though I most definitely wasn't virgin, I didn't want to exchange sex for this man's favors. I had successfully separated myself from my identity as an assassin. I would immediately fall straight back into the abyss that was so difficult to escape if I started trading favors for my body right now. I lost everything because of that hole.
