"Hold on, did you say 'it's worth 5000 gold coins'? Were those Stephen's words?" Thompson suddenly inquired.
Bairon confidently affirmed, "Yes, he said so himself."

Bairon shrugged.
Thompson once again bowed his head, this time scrutinizing the contents more earnestly.
Bairon waited patiently, aware that the notebook contained nothing of consequence.
