Elizabeth suddenly picked up the dragon scale on the table and asked, "Sir, how much do you know about this dragon scale?"
"It bears traces of human intervention," Bairon replied.
Surprised, Elizabeth inquired, "Have you had previous encounters with a subdragon?"
"No," Bairon shook his head, then smiled, "A lady told me about it."
"Well," Elizabeth continued, "I was actually wanting to ask how much you know about the owner of this dragon scale."
"There's no need to consult others on this. Subdragons reside in swampy areas and lack the ability to fly," Bairon asserted, recognizing the distinctive odor emanating from the scale as that of a swamp.
"Yes, the mature subdragon lived in a swamp in the south. The magus who hunted it relayed the same details to my grandmother," Elizabeth nodded in agreement.
Subdragons were naturally spell-weaving creatures, and adult subdragons possessed power equivalent to a master magus among humans.
