Early the next morning.
Bairon did not wait for Andrew's arrival, not holding it against him considering his occupation as a private detective.
After instructing Evelyn briefly, Bairon boarded a horse carriage and left Barrel Alley.
Seasoft sat at home, awaiting Teacher Andrew's arrival.
...
Around ten o'clock.
The carriage halted at 66 Maple Lane.
Bairon descended from the carriage, paid the fare, and walked up to the front door to knock. It didn't take long before the door opened.
The person who opened it was Aunt Leona.
Seeing Bairon, she exhibited a strange expression.
"Is Miss Howard at home?" Bairon asked, somewhat fearful that the aunt might erupt in anger again, he quickly explained, "I have an appointment with her today."
"Yes, the young miss is at home. Please come in, Mr. Stewart," Aunt Leona said.
"Thank you."
Bairon breathed a sigh of relief as he stepped inside.
