Mozart Padorn surveyed Barbara before asking solemnly, "Miss Valentine, where is your father, the principal of the Magus Academy, Robins Valentine?"
Barbara responded, "My father has taken a leave to the countryside for recuperation due to ill health. I am presiding over this year's examination."
"Well then, I demand a person from you," Mozart stated.
Barbara lowered her gaze momentarily, taking a drag of her cigarette.
When she raised her head again, a smile still adorned her face. "I refuse," she said simply.
Mozart was somewhat baffled. Before he could even clarify who he was referring to, Barbara had already declined.
"Miss Valentine, you are nothing like your father," Mozart remarked with a cold laugh.
There were many cowards in San Sorus, but the most renowned among them was Robins Valentine, not only for his timid nature but also for his stature as a Master Magus.
