Lorelei couldn't stop shivering as they reached the entrance of the Nefarious Forest. Ariel stood bravely beside her, while Lorelei trembled with fear. Was it too late to tell Ariel that she couldn't go anymore?
Memories of the terrifying encounters with the demonic beasts flooded Lorelei's mind, robbing her of the courage to proceed. Ariel's calm demeanor didn't surprise her; even Olivia, her sister, had it too. "So this is the entrance?" Ariel asked, examining the pathway ahead.
Lorelei nodded instead of using words. "It's not even that creepy," Ariel added, and Lorelei looked at her as if she were an alien.
How could she be so fearless? Lorelei felt the urge to laugh and cry at the same time.
"Let's go in," Ariel declared, confidently taking a step forward. Lorelei, with her small figure, was scared out of her wits.
