Chapter 19 - I’m going to kill those beasts

"..."

Azriel's sudden outburst left Olivia perplexed, causing her to cautiously create some distance between them.

'What's going on with him?' She asked herself.

Azriel, on the other hand, let out a chuckle and swiftly emerged from the water. As he observed Olivia's face, he noticed her red eyes, damp hair, and even her canines. Frustration washed over him, and he cursed under his breath, running his hand through his hair.

Olivia's gaze instinctively shifted downward, and to her dismay, she noticed that the water had made the shape of her chest visible. Startled, she let out a yelp and quickly covered herself with her hand.

Olivia shot a fierce glare at Azriel, determined not to let the coldness of the water bother her.

Ignoring the freezing sensation, she shifted in the lake, her hunger for more blood driving her forward. Despite her discomfort, Azriel watched her with an amused expression, seemingly enjoying the spectacle.

Olivia's eyes darted around, her gaze vigilant as if she was searching for something. Azriel remained still, observing her intently. Though his clothes were wet, they still clung to him in a way that looked hot.

Olivia noticed that he wasn't making any moves to approach her, and an idea sparked in her mind. Seizing the opportunity to escape from him since they were far from Hellothan, she swiftly turned around and dove back into the water. Azriel's left eyebrow arched in amusement, clearly entertained by her sudden decision.

Azriel remained motionless, not pursuing Olivia as she tried to escape. It wasn't that he underestimated her, but rather, she couldn't escape his domain, his lake.

With a chuckle, he settled himself on the ground, as if anticipating something. His gaze wandered through the forest, expectant. Suddenly, a scream pierced the air, followed by a swift swoosh.

Azriel's attention was immediately drawn to the scene as he witnessed Olivia being propelled forward by an immense force. Reacting swiftly, he sprang into action, catching her just in time to prevent her from hitting the hard ground.

As Azriel noticed the blood on Olivia's face, his expression grew dark. However, his demeanor quickly shifted when he realized the blood wasn't hers and watched as she sensually licked it off her face.

His eyes lit up once more, and he couldn't help but chuckle. She really had a way of amusing him.

Azriel maintained his steady gaze as Olivia glared at him before rising to her feet once more.

Determined, she left him behind and leaped into the depths of the forest again.

Olivia couldn't help but wonder how the lake had mysteriously led her into the heart of the forest without her ever leaving the water.

The enticing scent of the demonic beast's blood lingered in her senses, and she couldn't resist the temptation to pursue it. Meanwhile, Azriel remained rooted in place, observing her every move.

He knew all too well that if she dared to confront the formidable creatures within his forest, she would not succeed.

And just before he could finish his thoughts, her Yelp came again. She was flung out of the forest once more, her body being thrown like a rag doll. Azriel quickly caught her, concern evident in his eyes.

"That was quite a toss you took. Let's make sure you're okay." He said as he laid his eyes upon her already crimson orbs, now even redder, and her complexion growing paler, a mischievous smile danced upon Azriel's lips.

With a chuckle that echoed through the air, he effortlessly scooped her up in his arms, his touch both gentle and possessive.

"Enough playtime for today, Princess," he spoke softly, his voice a velvety whisper that sent shivers down her spine. "Let's quench your hunger."

In a swift motion, Azriel vanished from their current location, only to reappear in the heart of the ancient forest. The atmosphere was thick with an otherworldly aura, as if the very essence of darkness and enchantment intertwined in a delicate dance.

As his eyes scanned the surroundings, a flicker of surprise danced across Azriel's features. The forest was teeming with injured creatures, their life force drained and their bodies marked by a cruel touch. It was a sight that both intrigued and fascinated him.

He was taken aback by her appetite, as she had already feasted upon two beasts yet was unsatisfied.

"My, my, Princess, your appetite knows no bounds," he remarked, a playful chuckle escaping his lips.

As she remained silent, her gaze fixed upon the remaining beasts with an unyielding hunger.

A frown etched across his face, and an unfamiliar feeling stirred within him. Jealousy, an emotion he couldn't quietly comprehend, washed over him as he watched her longing for those creatures who had captured her attention.

Why could she give those beasts such hungry looks and not direct the same gaze towards him? he felt a twinge of jealousy, wishing to be the object of her intense desire.

His expression turned somber as she abruptly commanded,

"Release me." Her words snapped him out of his brooding state, redirecting his attention back to her.

He gently complied with her request, setting her down with a mix of gentleness and hesitation. "What's your intention for asking me to put you down?"

He asked, his eyes fixated on her face, which radiated an unwavering determination.

"I'm going to kill these beasts"

His eyes widened a little in surprise, his face lit up in admiration "You're really going to take on those beasts? That's incredibly brave," he said in his deep voice, a thin smile on his lips. "But do be careful. They are quite dangerous."

She nodded, a determined look in her eyes. "I know it won't be easy, but I've trained for this, and I won't back down."

On hearing the 'trained for this' word, he immediately turned to look at her.

She on realizing what she blurted out, smiled awkwardly. She had let that path slip out by mistake.

To avoid his intense gaze, she turned and headed towards the beasts, her determination unwavering. He watched her go. He really didn't know the level of her strength and courage to face the challenge, but he wouldn't over estimate or underestimate her either.
