The event came sooner than expected. Nicholas didn't even call his mother, and neither did he pick up the women's call. It angered Rosa so much that she started feeling dizzy, but she knew she couldn't do anything about it.
So she actively helped her daughter-in-law prepare for her day. But she still had a frown on her face as she did Abigail's hair.
"Honestly, I don't want you to go alone with that stupid son of mine." Rosa pressed her lips in a thin line. "I fear he might do something worse."
"That's exactly what I want!" Abigail mumbled under her breath.
"What did you say?" Rosa didn't hear it clearly.
"Nothing, I'll be fine." Abigail tried her best to give the woman a reassuring smile.
The more she tried, the sadder Rosa became. She sighed and patted the girl's head gently. "I wish I could go, but I can't."
