Any brilliant ideas to get us out of here?" Roselyn teased the system, knowing that she wouldn't get any help.
A holographic interface materializes before her,
"How about we politely ask the dungeon guards if they have considered a career change?" Mocked the system.
"Meh~ I don't think they're in the mood for career advice."Roselyn responded lazily.
"How I wish I knew how to use magic. The body I'm reincarnated in belongs to a powerful witch of her era. If only I knew how to use the magic, I would've been out of here in a blink." She complained.
"There's a way that'll help you use the magic and spells." Said the system.
Roselyn's eyes lit up with excitement. "Woah, that's so cool. Tell me more about it". She demanded.
Using the system's service requires points, which you haven't accumulated.
"My bad! My bad!" Closing her eyes, she swallows her anger and moves forward.
Step by step she climbed higher, her heart pounding not only from exertion but also the danger that lurked around every corner. As she reached a landing, she flattened herself against the wall, her breath held. As two guards passed by, their conversation drifted through the air.
Guard 1: "Are you scared about tomorrow's events?"
Guard 2 asked with surprise: "what events?"
Guard 1: "His Majesty ordered the imprisoned witch to be executed by dawn."
Guard 2: "So, you mean we have to take her along with us tomorrow?"
Their voices faded as they continued their rounds. Roselyn released a sigh of relief and continued her ascent, her senses heightened, and her movements deliberate. She knew that one wrong step could lead to her discovery and ruin her chances of escape.
Higher and higher, she climbed until she reached a narrow corridor adorned with tapestries depicting scenes of battles and conquests. Roselyn moved quietly, her eyes scanning for any sign of guards. She had to find a way to the tower's exit without being seen.
Peering around the corner, she spotted an open door leading to a balcony. The night air kissed her skin as she slipped outside, her heart racing with anticipation. Below, the tower grounds stretched out, shrouded in darkness. She was so close, yet freedom remained a treacherous journey away.
Crouching low, Roselyn crept along the balcony's edge, using the shadow to shield her from the guards patrolling below. Her movements were slow and deliberate. She paused herself for a while as she was running out of her breath.
"How does it feel to have access to an AI system, magic and spells, yet crouch low and creep all the way to exit?"
The system's words irritated Rose. She wanted to punch the holographic interface, but this wasn't the right time…
"Get away, your voice and blue light might grab the guard's attention." Roselyn commanded with an unsatisfied tone.
"Hehe! And the Master thinks I'm dumb, eh?" Mocked the system.
"You were reincarnated, not them, you are granted a personalized system, not them. And only you have the liberty to see and hear me." Explained the system.
The revelation surprised Roselyn.
"My own AI companion. That sounds cool." She smirked.
Peeking through the corner, Roselyn mumbled, "if no other way then the only option left is to jump on the rooftops" she sighed.
"Can you, at least now, locate any other way to exit?" She questioned with tiredness.
"Oh, sure, let me just check my 'Dungeon Escape' GPS. Oh wait! It says 'you're still stuck". Chuckled the system
"That was very helpful, thanks." Roselyn rolled her eyes.
"By the way, only 2 hours, 7 minutes left for you to complete the task". Reminded the system.
Roselyn put her head back in tension. If she loses this one, then she will meet the same fate as she did in her previous life. No! She can't let that happen.
Taking a deep breath, Roselyn made a final leap of faith and landed on a lower rooftop. She rolled to absorb the impact and quickly resumed her stealthy path, moving from one rooftop to another like a shadow. The wind whispered encouragement in her ears as she navigated the treacherous terrain.
As the tower of the dungeon faded behind her, Roselyn felt a mixture of exhilaration and relief. The moonlight guided her steps, and stars above seemed to celebrate her escape.
She was no longer a prisoner; she was a survivor, a heroine of her own story. With a newfound freedom coursing through her veins, she disappeared into the night, leaving the tower dungeon and its guards far behind her.
After her daring escape from the tower dungeon, Roselyn cautiously stepped into the unfamiliar forest. The dense canopy above blocked much of the moonlight, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. With her heart racing, she surveyed her surroundings, trying to calm her breathing.
She knew survival was paramount now. As darkness grew, the forest became dense with sounds that were both soothing and eerie. Roselyn clung to her makeshift shelter, her senses alert to every rustle and snap. In the distance, the cry of a nocturnal creature echoed through the trees, causing her heart to race again.
A holographic interface materializes before her casting a soothing blue light on her.
