The hall fell silent the moment the king's voice was heard.
With long golden hair reaching barely above his hips, The king with his eyes, one in a completely differentiable heatheredad an abyssal-like black color, each showing the wise aura they passed, their calm gaze glared down at the young boy who had just entered.
Gordon, as the boy was known, was the only apprentice to be accepted by Albus Rainshell, Head of research in the entire Linuz Kingdom.
Albus Rainshell was one of the best Magi-Casters the kingdom had ever seen.
All and every breakthrough the centuries-old Magi-caster made has been a leading factor in the development of the Linuz.
Whether Technological, Industrial, or Magical, Albus was one of the few people who were responsible for the kingdom's success, it would be an exaggeration to say that the kingdom would fall if it were to lose him.
With how high Albus was in status in the kingdom, Naturally a lot of people also placed their hope in Guordon, as the disciple of such a man.
"Tell me Guordon," The king said once more, "What urgent matter requires you to barge into a King's hall?"
Resting his head on his hand, The King carefully glanced at the boy before him, ready for his answer.
"A... A Remanent!!... One of them h-has appeared!!" The king did not wait long to get the answer he wanted, but it was not within his expectations.
The room which was already quiet, fell deathly silent.
All that could be heard were heartbeats that started beating faster than normal.
Seconds later, when Guordon's words had properly sunk in, the sounds of metal dropping to the ground were heard...
The soldiers that were previously still couldn't do anything but shake in fear, while others, fell flat on the ground.
Eyes barely visible from their metal helmets showed fear, nothing else, and nothing more.
Sounds of metal were soon followed by gasps, The sound of people trying to catch their breaths echoed inside the hall.
The two women next to the king also stepped back.
Their eyes changed colors from clear white to dark black a couple of times.
If it was not for a certain something, it was clear that the two women would have long disappeared from the kingdom the moment they heard that one of 'them' had appeared.
Even the king himself was terrified, his usual calm aura instantly disappeared and his eyes shook.
"A-are you sure about this?" He asked.
Gordon didn't respond to the King's words, instead, he took out a strange glove from his pocket, and after putting it on, he rolled out the map in Infrfronthim.
"GreVius inFlterfeRcE" After chanting these words with his gloved hand hovering above the Map...
A large Hologram of the map appeared inside the hall, big enough for
all to see.
The map showed the Great Kingdom of Linuz, the one they were currently in.
And at the edge of this Map, there was a red dark dot that seemed to be moving, but what was more interesting was the few numbers underneath the dot.
[9,999,999,999]
"This Map is one of my Master's most treasured items," Gordon spoke out, understanding that most of the people inside the Hall didn't understand the numbers underneath the dot.
"If I remember correctly, Master said that to be prepared for anyone who posed a threat to Linuz, He created the map you see before you.
The map is sought of a Mana Measuring Device, an MMD. The Map measures the mana of any and everything that has more mana than the currently strongest Magi-Casters in the entire Kingdom, so... "
Just before Guordon could finish his long explanation, he was interrupted by the King, "So you saying that the sum underneath the red dot, is.... someone's Mana Value?
"....Yes, Your Majesty."
The entire room trembled, No way was that possible,... right!?
In the entire world, the highest mana value to ever be recorded was a triple-digit one, but... this thing in front of them.
Quickly, they all understood why Guordon had said that a Remanent had appeared...
Just as they were all about to think of fleeing the country, The red dot disappeared.
....
"Gordon," The king called out, "What happened to the dot?"
Once again, panic erupted.
"I. I don't know!" Guordon's voice trembled as he tried to figure out what had gone wrong.
After a few attempts, he finally gave up, after all, he wasn't the one who had created the map, only its creator could fix it- that is if something was wrong.
Seeing the young boy confused, whispers were heard among the gathered nobles.
"Is it true that a Remanent has appeared?"
" That's not possible, the map must be broken."
"Maybe the boy is lying."
"But why would he lie in front of"
"Maybe the rumor about him having a screw loose like his master was true..."
"He must be playing a prank on the King then."
.....
The whispering among the nobles continued, and even though only bits and pieces, they entered the King's ears.
Visible discomfort could be seen on the King's face, 'Was there a need to throw things out of proportion?' He thought.
Not being able to bear any more of these gossips, "SILENCE!!" he shouted.
As He ordered, Silence was delivered to the hall, and with a cough to clear his throat, he continued...
"Gordon... if what you said is true, why was it you who came to report this incident and not your master?"
To this, the group of nobles turned their eyes in Guordon's direction, the soldiers also included.
"Well, that's because..." Guordon's entire being trembled.
How was he supposed to tell the King that his master ran away?
Would he even believe him?
His master, after all, Was head of Research in Linuz.
Seeing the trembling boy in front of him, the nobles confirmed their suspicions...
"Your Majesty, I believe there's no need to waste your time with this fool." One of the Nobles said.
"He should be thrown in jail for playing with the king!!"
"Yes!! he should be executed at this moment!!"
More and more of the nobles had similar thoughts, and this was the perfect moment to voice them.
They continued and continued...
But unbeknownst to them, Guordon had already resolved himself, and after tightly clenching his fist, His Voice was once again, heard...
"Master Albus... Has fled the Country."
